We've been here a couple of days. Spent all day at Little Lameshure, and most of today at Honeymoon. No jellies.

I heard the exact same thing (no mortgage, no debt, finish when one can afford to) from Aaron, the owner of the Fish Trap restaurant, who has lived on STJ for many decades. This is why you'll see "half-finished' homes all over the island.

Just called Rachel and booked our private taxi with her. She sounds wonderful, and told me it's so much more than a taxi ride! We're looking forward to meeting her in person. Thanks to all on the forum for advice.

So I don't wanna be stupid, but having taken the extremely overcrowded and sometimes dangerous regular "taxis" from the STT airport to Red Hook, how does the private taxi work? Set this up in advance with Rachel? Is she normally near the airport? Thanks for any light you can shed on this....

Yes, while we want to try Cruz Bay Landing, there is something great about sitting on the beach. Beach Bar it is! 16th August is a go.

Another vote for the Olympus TOUGH TG-3 camera. After having 2 Panasonic cameras in 2 years with seals that failed, this'll be the 3rd year on the Olympus, and it's got a huge LCD and takes great pics underwater. A winner.

As a long time Verizon user/owner, we have a cheap ATT GoPhone that I bought 3 years ago. Every year before we leave for STJ, I buy an AT&T GoPhone refill card on eBay and load some minutes. Costs very little. Works over most of the island. $2 per day for unlimited calls.
