Just curious - at what temp does a pool become unenjoyable for most people? I'd think that most pools in STJ would hover near 80, at least, if they are in the sun - even in the winter. Is that not the case? No ours gets a cool as 68 degrees in the winter Only 75 in the summer? Must be the Breezes

Have you considered a solar cover for your pool? In the villa's that we have stayed in Nov-Dec-Jan we found them to be chilly but not downright cold. If they were covered at night the temps could easily be kept at a comfortable temperature. The downside is that the renter would have to cover and un...

We go to STJ in Oct or Nov and the past two times have stayed at higher elevations. In both cases the pools were on the cold side (for Floridians). A heated pool, just like A/C, would be a factor in choosing a villa. In fact, we would prefer a heated pool alone over having an unheated pool and a ho...

Dave Our system is about 8kw, with two large battery banks for storage. It is less than two years old. It make lots of power in the NC mountains. We do have a generator that is used some in the Winter, when we have a bigger demand and load, mostly because it is solar heated also, and the circulaton ...

Exit Zero Our pool has some unique conservation features, It has its own cistern / tanks. The pool and tanks collect rain water and all of the pool’s overflow. When more water is needed for the pool it has a pump that returns the water to the pool. It also has a pump to supply the drip irrigation sy...

Heated Pool Vs Non-Heated Pool

We are considering heating our villa pool? Pole questions: Does it make a difference in the choice of the villa your rent?? Heated Vs Not Heated??? Most pools from Dec To March are not that confortable on STJ. We have a great pool at Into the Mystic But in the winter IT IS SOMETIMES COLD & YOU ...

We take a soft side cooler, REI $42 , and freeze 3 or 4 bottles of water instead of ice pack etc.. That keeps it cold all the way down to Coral Bay. We dirnk the water when we get there, roll up the cool and take it home In our carry on bag. The saving on cost of food and better quality of the food,...
