In the time I've been following this forum, I've yet to hear of a seriously bad result for a snorkeler. Does anyone know when the last time a snorkeler had to be rescued, or worse yet, drowned? My wife and I are very fit, but not good swimmers. The most daring snorkel we've done is to go around Wate...

I'm sure they were looking for valuables, but you would think they would have dumped the snorkel stuff.

Why would anyone want to steal someone's snorkel gear? That's gross! (No offense) It's like stealing someone's underwear.

Trunk Cay

In the few times I've been to Trunk Bay, I don't recall ever seeing snorkelers going all the way around the Cay. Is there a reason for this? Perhaps people were just not doing it when I was there. Would it be an interesting snorkel? Do the life guards frown upon it? Just curious.

Fantastic photograph. As a newbie, though, I get frustrated when the location of the picture isn't mentioned. I would guess this is somewhere along the south shore. Maybe in the reef Bay area :?:

We were in the exact same boat and we went with Apito. Beautiful location. Private. Romantic. Reasonable rates. Check it out. I think you'll be happy. We booked it though Viva! and we were happy.

We were on Mamey Peak in early October and the Shack was closed. There was som action there one day, but they were just getting prepared and were not open for business. It was definitely a bummer, but i can understand it. The Island was pretty quiet at that time.

So I've been checking out this phenomenon for a couple or three weeks and it seems pretty consistent. In past experience things like this usually end up with a name, ala the "Christmas Swells". Does anyone know if these clouds have a local nickname or perhaps a more scientific name?

Plume of clouds over St. Thomas

For the past few days, I've noticed a plume of "Clouds" to the west over St. Thomas on both the Spice Cam and the Serendipity Villa Cam. It seems pretty consistent over a long period of time, which seems unusual to me. Is there something going on to the west like a fire or volcano or somet...

Absolutely no evidence that fluoride is carcinogenic. NYU is a terrific dental school. As in every profession, some dentists are good, others, not so much. Find a dentist you trust and do not let your insurance company dictate what dentist you go to. Continuity of care usually results in the best ou...
