Re: Baby names
Gee Jan, thanks for suggesting MY screen name.....just kidding!! ATGC - it's hard to know how a middle name fits without knowing the first name and it all depends on what YOUR memories are of the island. Here's a few though, some a little off the wall, but that seems to be popular these days - Annab...

I was thinking that it looked like the area around the Indians.

Re: First trip to St John
My husband says it wouldn't have mattered what Caribbean island I visited for the first time,I would have fallen in love with it. But I'm not convinced of that. There is something innately powerful about St. John. I agree with you Nancie-Pa! My husband and I sent to the Bahamas first. While it was ...

Re: 2 bedroom suggestion near Cruz Bay
Hey fellow Badgers!! (Moved to Connecticut from South of Waukesha, close to Mukwonago) - Why stay in a condo when you can have an entire villa with a pool? If you can sacrifice walking distance for a two minute drive out of town check out Kia Ora. It's actually a 3 bedroom place, but still within yo...

Re: Villa search 4 couples and one 11 year old
Check out Virgin Seabreeze if you don't plan on hanging around in Cruz Bay every night. It's out on Reef Bay so it's a 20 minute or so drive into town, but it has a large comfortable and covered outdoor area with gorgeous views that would be perfect for a family group. There is a small loft with a d...

Re: Advice on first trip to St. John
We may try the snorkel out to Water Lemon, but may just snorkel the beach there and not travel out if the water is too deep. Depends on my wife for that one. I know we will probably at least see a couple nurse or lemon sharks on the trip, but I don't want to get her in too deep of water and make he...

Re: favorite beach reads for kindle
OK, this is not a "short" read by any means, but it is entirely entertaining and has plenty of the "hubba hubba" factor. Do you like rugged red headed Scottish men in kilts with nothing underneath???? I have been totally absorbed by the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. It is a...

Re: Question for Florida forumites
JJShaw - I've heard about the cruise deals. I'll have to check it out with some female friends...Hubby was in the Navy for 6 years and says he's NEVER going on a ship without sight of land ever again. I either have to cruise with girlfriends or my rich second husband (when I find one). bdkane - I ma...

Re: Question for Florida forumites
Hey bdkane...maybe we'll run into each other someday because I'm sure I'll be hitting Vero a lot for shopping, etc. This airfare thing really bums me out!! I was all excited about getting some possible deals on airfares and this just sucks. Does ANYONE understand the logic behind the way airfares ar...

Question for Florida forumites
Hubby and I purchase a home in Sebastian and will relocate permanently sometime in 2015. I was momentarily giddy thinking that being closer to STJ would be lower airfares and more opportunities to visit my favorite place. I was completely astounded when I checked out a few dates to see what kind of ...

Re: QUICK! Best south shore/east end beach for all ages!
I second Lameshur. The drive there will ensure that there would be no cruise ship people at all. Plus once you get there it's a level, easy access beach with lots of sand and good snorkeling along the rocks. Something for everyone! Not a lot of parking though so get going now.

Re: bathrooms in a rental villa
Are the bathrooms ensuite? That's probably the most important issue for me personally. Even if the bathroom is small, it's workable if it's located in the bedroom so that you can have cosmetic items and clothing accessible nearby if the bathroom isn't large enough to accommodate having everything in...

Re: Looking for a Villa for 4 couples
stjchica - There are two bedrooms accessible at the entry level. One is just off the kitchen and the other is actually across a small landing where the stairs go down to the second two bedrooms so access is outside although the stairs are covered. One of the bedrooms on the lower level has a separat...
