Re: Charter with kids (3-year-old)?

We went with Captain Phil (Wayward Sailor) a few years ago when my boys were 7 & 4. It was a half-day sail with a snorkel stop and my boys loved it! Captain Phil was fabulous with the kids! Both of my boys learned a lot from Captain Phil and will still (4 yrs later) randomly mention some kind of...

Re: Fill in the Blanks...

Why: that blue water, the beauty beneath that blue water, no schedule, no fanciness When: March 28. 1998 having just arrived on island for the first time. Riding in a pick-up with benches, aka "taxi", from the ferry dock to Cinnamon Campground coming around the corner and seeing the Trunk ...

Re: Who experienced STJ in the earlier times(80s and eariler

Our first trip to STJ was in 1998, but I first visited the Caribbean (Grand Cayman) as a 7 yr old in 1981. Stopped there on a cruise last year and talk about "Aspenized"! What a crowded mess it was! When I was there as a little girl I believe that the Holiday Inn on 7 Mile Beach (gone now)...

I completely agree with all of the above advice! You'll be really happy to have some kind of stroller and a small pop-up type shelter is a must. Another suggestion: the first time we brought our kids our youngest was 2 and I bought a Sea Window raft online for him to lay on. It's a really cool infla...

I'm sorry- perhaps "manipulated" is an actual medical term and I used it incorrectly. He moved my sons arm to fit into the new brace contraption, but from what I could tell he didn't actually try to move the bone around or anything... I didn't mean to misrepresent what was done.

"Body surfing not advised"

BODY SURFING NOT ADVISED Well, we saw this sign at Trunk and saw the big yellow flags at the life guard stations, but we (stupidly) let our kids (and ourselves) roll around in the waves anyway... On Wednesday, our Disney cruise docked in STT. We took the 9am Red Hook ferry over to STJ (our 4th time ...

You are all so helpful, it's amazing! Thank you. Okay, so according to our cruise documents, our "all aboard" time is 3:45pm and departure time is 4:30pm. If I purchase roundtrip tickets in Red Hook that morning and arrive back at the Cruz Bay ferry dock at 1:30pm for the 2:00pm ferry, I s...

Thanks for that advice, but there are actually only six of us that will be going over to STJ and not staying on STT. I've done a little bit of research and I think that with six I am better off doing the public ferry. Is this correct?

Ferry Ticket Help, Please

Good Morning- In our past three trips to STJ we have always taken the downtown ferry upon our departure. We've always been on the earliest morning ferry so we've had to wait for the ticket window to open and purchased our tickets right before departure. We will be on a cruise in early March (I know,...
