30 minutes? Oh you are definitely not a Virgo. I wear something as light as I can stand it and a light wrap. I don't like changing in the yucky plane bathroom and want to be ready when I get there. Have a ball...it won't matter what you wear.

Private messaging

Quick question for those in the know. I've replied to couple of messages tonight but they seem to be sitting in my outbox. Does it usually take a while for them to send? I don't see a prompt to resend.

Ruth, we are big John Mayer fans too. He is quite the amazing guitarist, too.

Thanks so much for all of the well wishes! Laundry is done, bags are packed and one of those adult beverages is calling me right now! Trouble is the cupboard is bare in that department. Missing ipod mini-crisis averted and Pete (DH) is running #1 son across the island to pick it up at a friend's hou...

Oooh, those are my guilty pleasures!
Me too Liamsaunt. If you haven't read it already I highly recommend In the Company of a Courtesan by Sarah Dunant. It's set in Renaissance Italy in both Rome and Venice. Not so light but a fantastic read! My husband loved it, too.

A few hours away

Finally, Saturday the 16th of February will arrive and take us back to my family's favorite place on earth. We will leave before dawn and today I'm busy packing, drowning in laundry, organizing things for the care of the beasts, mail, paper, etc. In the past I have never posted a proper trip report,...

Oh shoot. My kids will be so disappointed. Chilly's is somewhat of a tradition for us. We have lots of happy memories starting our days there with a breakfast burrito and some Trvial Pursuit. Once upon a time we were a pin in their map because we sent them a postcard from home. There were pins and p...

Good Lord that looks delicious! You have no idea how much I admire the skills of a good cook. I just don't got it.

We are all over the map. I too love Kieth Urban, The Shins and Jack Johnson. Josh Rouse, Beck and Moby remind me of STJ because my brother brought them along on a previous trip and we loved them, too. I'll probably bring along some old favorites of Dan Fogelberg like Captured Angel and Souveniers if...

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. I picked up Nature Girl and the Broker and on also some pure fluff called Queen of Babble by Meg Cabot. I was really tempted by some of the historical novels recently out like the other Boleyn Girl and Antony and Cleopatra by Colleen McCullough. I may have to...

If you take one you won't need it but if you don't you will. I usually take a light sweater that I wear to and from the airport and in the plane. I usually don't need it down there in Feb. but it's there if I do.

Have a ball!

jmq, thanks for the reminder. He is fun. I read Carl Hiaasen a little while ago....I can't remember the name but it was about a woman whose husband threw her overboard on a cruise. He thought he got away with it but she swam to safety and stayed "undercover" to take her revenge. Very funny...

I absolutely loved Don't Stop the Carnival and have a copy handy to take and reread. I love Grisham, too and maybe will pick up The Broker. Keep 'em coming please!
