Re: What to order from La Tapa or Asolare
We just love Asolare. They make a cocktail called Moonbow which is absolutely delicious. I have tried to make it at home but only get close.

Re: Top ten restaurants you would suggest?
I am surprised no one mentioned Asolare. We love that restaurant. The views and the ambiance are lovely. I dream of their moonbow martinis!

Re: Caneel Trailside Cottage info
We stayed in this villa in 2011. It was a very nice villa and very comfortable for 2 couples. The pool was out back. We missed the sunsets that we were used to when we previously stayed overlooking Cruz Bay and the other islands. The villa overlooks St. Croix but conditions need to be clear in order...

Crazy Weather!
Well it is official. This has got to be the craziest weather I have seen in a very long time. It was warmer today in Lovell Maine (my other very special place in this world) than it was in St. John!

We stayed there last May. It was a very nice villa. It was also very comfortable. We did not see one hiker the whole time we were there. The pool is in the back of the house. The views are ok, but we missed the views of Cruz Bay. On a clear day you can see St Croix. There was construction going on n...

We went to Caneel last May. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves. We parked and walked to the beach with our chairs (we did not use the chairs on the property). At lunch we went to the restaurant and had a great lunch. The parking fee was easily covered by the lunch. At no point did anyone give...

A split AC is a unit in the wall, however, the condenser is outside which makes them much more quiet than a window A/C. They also are good as humidifiers. We have one in our home and just love it. Ours has a thermostat and you can set it for the temperature you prefer. We have been to St. John the l...

Hawksnest! It is the beach we go to first everytime we visit. We go the left towards the end of the beach. There is plenty of shade there. If the water is choppy, you can go to Francis or Caneel. We love Salt Pond but the hike to the beach from the parking lot might be too much for your children (I ...

If you do your trip report in Word and insert photos and then copy the whole report in to the post will you see the photos or lose the photos? I did my report in Word and am inserting photos, but now I am wondering if this isn't going to work. This is the first time I am doing a trip report, so any ...
