Hey Flip Flop: if we work it right, maybe 25 years from now we can get our kids together and make sure they buy their own villa, that of course we have access to!

Scratch that... 25 years is too long to wait. I better stop thinking this way or the college fund will become the villa fund.

Addiction Starts Early

I must talk about vacation too much, because I think I've created a mini monster! My 8 yo has been to Maui, but no other tropic vacations (unless you count when I was pregnant - maybe that's what did it!) Evidence of early childhood island addiction: Whenever we drive past a nearby church called &qu...

The online St. John Beach Guide has a bit of info on Beehive: near the old Tektite Project road. The cove itself looks to be pretty rocky. There's a picture here:

It sounds like you'd be walking on the Tektite Road for a bit -- anyone been hiking there?

Jorge,

May the collective prayers of this entire nation lift you up and comfort you and yours, at a time when it seems that nothing is left but questions and comfort seems impossible. I know you'll be there for others, and please let others be there to help you, too.

I've been working at my desk all morning (I work from a home office) w/out the radio on, and this is the first I heard of it. How tragic! My prayers go out to all the students and staff there, and their families. I'm sure this will emotionally affect students at campuses everywhere.

What a gorgeous view! Mine right now is Tyvek, from the unbelievably huge thing going up on the lot behind us.

How chilly is that water for the kayaker? Yikes!

Mia: Go for that margi! I look at it this way: if you put in a slice of lime, that's fruit. So it's like having a salad, and salad is good for you, right?!

Mia: Actually, the Crocodile Hunter died before Halloween. I'm not sure when (and I had a couple margaritas with dinner so frankly I'm too lazy to Google it!!) I will say that as soon as I heard how he died, I thought 'that would make a good Halloween costume!'. Guess I'm pretty twisted... Now, if h...

Nothingtolose: I had 3 dreams (at least 3 that I remembered) about STJ during the few weeks when I was doing a villa search. I must have been pretty obsessed with the whole villa choice, because 2 of my dreams were about staying at a particular villa. The third dream was the weirdest... shopping for...

Thanks jenni! Sounds like a great trip!

I looked at Villa Mollo, too, and spoke to the owner once. But then our group grew from 4 to 10 so we needed more space.

Looking forward to more reports!

Gromit I bet those old maps are fascinating -- I love stuff like that. I have a really cool big one that I bought in Paris years ago... seems like I notice something different everytime I look at it. I'm going to look up Mapes du Monde
