Re: Night snorkel !!!
Great advice parafins! I didn't even think about marking a spot on the beach for re-entry. Love the glow stick idea!

Re: Night snorkel !!!
I would love to try night snorkeling! This will be my 6th trip and 5th for the kids; we've talked about trying some new things (for us) like the Reef Bay hike and snorkeling at Haulover or Brown Bay. A night snorkel would be so cool! (Too bad there's no full moon while we'll be there - I'd love to d...

Re: Help, she hates the water!!
I'm with Mahojim, JJShaw and others. Let her know what you intend to do all day and if it's not what she wants to do, then at the very least she needs to rent her own vehicle. Then she can do other stuff to her heart's content and you all can meet up for happy hour or dinner. Just please, don't chan...

Re: Bad Experience VRBO 225102
I would keep track of their availability calendar to see if those dates open back up and then get booked again. If they don't open up, you can use that as proof that they aren't even trying to recoup their money. If they do open up and then get booked again, that's proof that they recouped their mon...

Re: President's "Week"???
President's 'week' is also, usually, the week leading up to the 8 Tuff Miles race. I'm not sure how that affects crowds, but there are several hundred who come in for the race (and Centerline closes down for a few hours on race day.) This year, because the last day of February falls on Saturday, 8 T...

Re: Help with villa in Coral Bay / East End please .......?
Here are some I haven't stayed at but came across it during my search for our spring break villa. I haven't checked your dates and I'm also not sure about AC (we've never used it on STJ due to breezes and time of year.) Glen Mar http://stjohntour.com/Villa-Rentals/Glenmar.htm This one has a shared p...

Re: Where can we pick up food for lunch for the NP Reef Bay
Hi northerngal: We've used Deli Grotto for sandwiches to bring with us on our 'dinghy days' and they were great. Hopefully the new place is just as good. Can you tell me how you're doing the Reef Bay Hike? Are you hiking both ways or just hiking down and catching a boat? We're staying in Coral Bay f...

Re: The real deal on Xmas/NY Eve week?
Our first 2 trips we came down right after Christmas and stayed through the Sunday after New Years Eve. I LOVED having NYE on island. (First trip was with 2 other families and second trip we met the loria family and spent NYE with them - so fun!) For 5 years in a row we celebrated NYE somewhere othe...

Re: Where is everyone?
On only occasionally these days and mostly lurking. Looking forward to our spring break trip and sad that I won't be down for 8 Tuff this year. Big decision for upcoming trip... Trying to decide whether or not to invite my boyfriend on our spring break trip. We've been dating for 5 months and he's g...

I've used Cloud 9 before too (there were 5 of us) and they were great. I booked the trip through Pia (Diane) on this forum. Not sure if she's still doing bookings or not... I'm not on here as much as I used to be. But it's worth sending a PM to Pia to see if she can help!

Re: Transportation from airport to Red Hook
iheartsj: Twice I've been delayed on my way to the ferry when taking a regular taxi van from the airport and other passengers were dropped at STT hotels first. Once was really a pain: the couple staying on STT didn't have good directions to their B&B/small hotel and we drove around for about 45 ...

Re: Which beach/snorkel will you do first?
Caw954: Ours has always been Salt Pond too. We start with the hike to Ram Head, come back for some snorkel time, and usually spend the whole day there. Of my 5 trips so far, Salt Pond/Ram Head has been the first day 4 times. (We have done the hike at least once every trip. Usually twice.)
