Re: Stinging Plankton???
We had a fair amount of stings at Maho on the 22nd - it was worse while we were standing in shallower water playing frisbee. The 23rd was Leinster and they were really thick. The 24th was Francis and I only got a couple. The next couple days we were south shore and had no problems. Monday was Hawksn...

There are a couple pay to park lots right by Wharfside - Slimman's is my favorite. You can park for free over by the tennis courts. Sometimes you can get lucky and find a spot at Mongoose or along the road leading to NPS (only park in the spots along the road!) We always chose Slimman's if he has sp...

1st trip - Christmas Cottage in Coral Bay - 1 room cabana on owners property in the Carolina Valley. Very basic, but charming. A super bargain at $500/week 2nd trip - Satinwood in Upper Carolina - 3 full bedrooms + 2 lofts. Totally off the grid. Nice pool and killer views. Probably my favorite so fa...

Kiss of the Jumbie always comes home with me!
Sure I could buy it online... Or I could just schedule another trip and bring more home with me

I always get excited to see you post your trip reports because I know I'm going to get some great underwater and food porn pics!
You are clearly a better sea glass hunter than I am, I'm happy if I come home with 10 pieces. Where do you have the best luck?

I would think water shoes inside fins might be too much. I wear scuba socks in my fins and it's perfect. They're cheap and comfortable

Re: I have a size problem
Minde - does Amalie allow younger than 25 drivers? If so, any chance to have just one car left at Red Hook? I would be a lot less nervous about them driving if they didn't have to go from the airport to Red Hook. I did try some companies on St John we have rented from - didn't get me anywhere. BigCh...

Re: $50 Certificates for Military
That's awesome - I see the form asks for your hotel info and booking confirmation though - does this mean you don't qualify if you're staying in a villa? I will be bringing my military son down in August, so I would have him fill this out if it weren't for that info.

Re: TSA Precheck Offered at St Thomas Airport
I have a TSA known traveler number for precheck and was able to breeze right through in August. My daughter's friend got pulled for precheck even though she doen't have a KTN, so she was right behind me. My daughter did not - which her friend and I thought was hysterical, she was less amused

Re: I have a size problem
I had heard that the only place that would rent to someone under 25 was Budget - is that not right? My concern with just getting a vehicle for all of us on STT is with the comments above on how tight it is, and how much of a pain every time we all go somewhere? Plus, the idea of driving for my first...
