Re: First time visitors

We simply print boarding passes at kiosks at airport. Not a problem.

Re: First time visitors

DO NOT, I repeat...Do NOT overpack clothes, especially dressed up clothes for either of you! You really need very little. Swimsuits and coverups take top priority. A decent pair of walking/hiking shoes, flip flops, water shoes, etc. Definitely NO HEELS! She will actually look quite out of place walk...

Re: Walking from Grande Bay to Cruz Bay

Look at a satellite view of Cruz Bay on Google Maps....zoom in. If you are in decent shape without physical limitations, you can walk from Grande Bay all the way to Mongoose Junction. Pretty much a straight shot. Don't know if a 5 year old would be happy about it all the way, but if they are easy go...

Re: Need a room for two for one night!

Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel is wonderful for a few nights! Short walk from ferry dock and very convenient to walk around Cruz Bay. It's across the street from Lime Inn. Owners are very nice and helpful. We stayed there two nights in December. Walked to Lind Point Trail to Honeymoon and Salomon beaches.

Re: Trip Report - Sailing November 15-23, 2013

You said, "After spending a week in the BVIs, quaint Cruz Bay looked like the big city." I thought the exact same thing when we sailed in after anchoring 4 nights at Anegada (3 nights we were the only boat at Pomato Point then 1 night at Setting Point), 1 night at Sandy Spit and 2 nights a...

Re: Cruz bay landing

It was so good we ate there for breakfast two days in a row last weekend! Love the blueberry and banana pancakes. Had a bennie one day and an omelette the next. Both very good. Yes, the breakfast potatoes have to go! They are big chunks that were tough and highly seasoned. I asked if I could get the...

Re: Most Overrated / Most Underrated

Through the power of the Internet I just read this thread, Googled it for a few more online comments and then decided to try Sogo's which is right next door to Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel where we are staying. You can't judge the restaurant by the first impression you get when walking up to it. Great fo...

Dinner Reservations near Christmas Time

My husband and I will be staying at Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel for two nights Sat. and Sun., Dec. 21-22 and will be looking for a couple of good dinners. I assume it will be quite busy at that time right before Christmas and maybe we should inquire about reservations. We have been to Morgan's Mango and...

Hey, Pia. I was enjoying your remodeling blog and have been wondering whether you are still working on your home, whether you have moved to another blog site.....what's up? I'd like to follow if you are still at it.

Re: Staying first week in May with Children. Suggestions?

Don't make too many plans....the kids will love the beaches and simply playing in the water. We took our kids last year at ages 11 and 13 and we they didn't want to leave the beach each day. At one of the gift shops along the streetfront at Mongoose Junction we got one of those little balls about th...

Need recommendation for 2 nights post-charter in high season

Need recommendations for an affordable place (less than $300/nt) walking distance to Cruz Bay restaurants and Honeymoon/Salomen beaches for only two nights after a week-long boat charter in BVI. This will be for only 2 nights right at Christmas time 12/21 and 12/22. Is there a studio or 1 BR with A/...

Spray yourself and wear a bug band or two. the no-see-ums.....you truly don't know they exist until you are covered in red dots that can itch. You don't see um, hear um, feel um, smell um, nothing! My 11 yr old daughter got 100 bites. She counted them. They are mostly on her forearms, legs and face....
