Re: I was really holding out hope for our February trip!!
Many residents do want the return of visitors; their presence provides employment either directly or indirectly for most of the people who live in the USVI!

Re: One night on STT ?
My wife and I own Great Expectations on St John. For St Thomas, we use ourselves, and recommend to our guests, Bluebeards Castle which is located between Havensight (where the cruise ships dock) and the Legislature ( the beautiful old red fort at the east end of Charlotte Amalie). Ask for a room wit...

Re: Getting thru customs w/o passport or birth certificate?
Here is what we advise our guests: You will need to clear US Customs on St. Thomas when you depart (having a passport, while not necessary, will facilitate the process and you will need a passport anyway should you wish to visit the nearby British Virgin Islands such as Tortola or Virgin Gorda).Whil...

Re: Villa Rental Insurance
Sorry, I am not legally-qualified to answer your latest question; I was trying to help you by referring back to what you suggested yourself in your first post on Feb 24 when you said: "We are 3 couples hoping to rent a villa for 3 weeks for a total of $22,000. How best to purchase the insurance...

Re: Villa Rental Insurance
The 'Cancel for Any Reason' option from CSA appears to be available for residents of New Jersey, Connectucut, Massachusetts and the other 4 New England states so if any of the others traveling with you reside in one of these states (or another where it is offered), you might want to have them purcha...

Re: Villa Rental Insurance
Sorry, I cannot help you. I have tried entering different amounts from $1 to $100,000 and it gives me two quotes (CSA Custom and Custom Luxe) each time. Perhaps try a different computer/browser.

Re: Villa Rental Insurance
We have been recommending CSA to our guests for 15 years and have had nothing but positive reports. You may not be able to find what you want just by calling their general tel number, but if you follow my original instructions and click on the CSA hyperlink in the upper left hand corner, it will tak...

Re: Villa Rental Insurance
We recommend CSA to all our guests because they provide coverage for the pre-paid costs of renting a private villa. You can each purchase CSA insurance individually simply by allocating the cost of your rental villa and adding on your airfare, or do it all together using the total rental cost and ad...

Re: Car Barge Update
There is currently no car barge service every half-hour. Boyson, which used to offer barge service every hour on the half-hour, is currently operating just one barge ("Mr. B") with no estimate of if, or when their other barge ("The General"), will return to service. The (relevant...

Re: Cimmaron Rentals
We own and manage Great Expectations, one the largest vacation rental villas on St. John. Cimmaron neither cares for our property nor offers our Villa for rent so we have nothing to gain by saying that the folks at Cimmaron are absolutely terrific. We consider Cimmaron the best property management a...

another great view
As an owner of a vacation villa on St. John, I have been an avid, albeit 'closet', reader of this Forum for many years. I learn alot by just reading what St. John's most loyal customers have to say, but have resisted the temptation to 'speak' until now. This is one of the finest threads I ever read....
