Oh, one more question, how is the D40 at taking night pictures, pictures of stars etc?

Island Hopper, I think I will probably get the Nikon D40 but do you know the difference (besides price) of the D40X. Is it worth the extra $$$?

That's what I'm afraid of Vicki, my husband is a canon lover. Which canon would equate to the Nikon D40. Also, does the canon have a date stamp?.

Anyone have any particular reasons of liking the Canon over the Nikon or visa-versa?
