Cost U Less
I am planning my annual trip to STJ and plan to rent my jeep on STT, and hope to stop at Cost U Less for supplies on the way to the ferry. After the hurricane did they reopen in the same spot or did they move to another location? In looking at their website it looks like they moved much closer to Re...

Re: Swogjan's Dragon
Thanks for the report and the info. We are regulars to the island but have never stayed in this particular part of the island.

Swogjan's Dragon
I am looking for any information on this villa as there seems to be nothing in the last 3 years. Curious about post-hurricane updates by anyone who has stayed there recently. TIA

Re: Full face snorkel masks? ISO feedback and recommendation
Not a fan. Cannot dive down to look for bottom stuff or get a closer look at what you see. For me and my family, we are always diving down to chase that turtle, look at the coral or look under that overhang. If never intend to get more than 6 inches deep then i suppose OK but aside from being cumber...

Re: One night stay in St Thomas
And i forgot to mention that the Island View Guest house has an honor bar. Pour or mix own drinks etc and then just keep your own tally or mark on the chalk board when checking out.

Re: One night stay in St Thomas
My 2 go-to places are the Green Iguana and the Island View Guest House. Love them both and have used them MANY times just for that reason. Island View has an on-site restaurant but is a cab ride downtown while the GE is walking distance to downtown.

Re: One night on STT ?
I can also recommend Green Iguana. Stayed there 2 nights in Feb enroute to STJ. Reason was that Island View was unavailable. No on-site dining but owners are great. Can walk the 99 steps to downtown. IF staying one night i like the idea of dining without a cab which can do either place but at GI hav...

Re: One night on STT ?
I might try Island View Guest House. Not quite as close but no more than 5 minutes further and they can arrange transport to the airport. Should be more reasonable as could probably get 3 rooms for the same $. Plus the owners are great with an on-site restaurant.

Re: car barge advice
You back onto the ferry with direction from the staff. Once parked and loaded and enroute they come around and collect the cash. Easy. Have been doing it for the last couple of years. I make a stop at Cost U Less to supply on the way to the ferry. Enjoy and remember to set the parking brake.

Re: Public Transportation to Ferry Docks
With that number of people, if renting a vehicle consider renting on St. Thomas and taking the car ferry. With 6 people and luggage the tab will be over $100 just to Red Hook and then the ferry to STJ $60 or so. Versus renting on STT, driving to Red Hook and spending $25 for the car ferry total.

Re: New Ferries
Just returned from 2 weeks on STJ and can report that the new ferries are up and running daily. Since they are faster they are at the dock longer between runs.
