Re: Trip Report – May/June – Part 3 – Encounters with Critte
We were hanging out in the ruins of the custom house, enjoying our sandwiches and the view, when we were attacked by a herd (flock?, pride?) of iguanas. Had to have been at least 10-15 of them. They were also totally fearless, coming at us with their mouths open and not running off when we tried to...

In my research for September, I just became aware of

They do both group and private charters to the "treasure islands"

i would be willing to bet it is more of an inconvenience to those that actually live on STJ than to those of us who are only visiting.

the fact that there is no more fried chicken being served may just reduce the people driving out...I almost cried when I heard.

pools separate from house or with safety gates
Looking at a family vaca next year with 6 yr old grandson. Need 3 br/AC and would love a pool but cannot comfortably do one without some type of separation from main house or gate. Any one have personal experience with a home that offers this this type of set up?

Re: TSA lines
After having nightmare TSA lines this year in Orlando and Puerto Rico, I just bit the bullet and applied for/paid for the TSA precheck -$85.00/good for 5 years. I only fly about 6 times per year, but my husband has this as he flies weekly for work. And its no fun to travel with someone who gets to s...

Re: Car rental companies demanding letter from insurance com
just to clarify, it is on the website AND on my email confirmation that this is needed. You really dont have to read a bunch of contract stuff to know this. I can sympathise with no knowing. Stuff happens, and anyone can be caught off guard. But, it would appear these business are doing enough that ...

Re: Car rental companies demanding letter from insurance com
I have rented from Courtesy for 10 plus years & have always provided this letter. As previously stated it is right on the website. It is a protection the owner has deemed important for both parties. You can choose where you want to rent. Sorry but its not a "ripp off" just because you ...

Interesting info re: snorkel masks as i was considering a purchase. I have read a few other reviews sharing this same type of experience. It's one thing for the "valve" to cut off when you have a partial mask on and you can easily raise you head up and breath out of your mouth after "...

Re: Villa Rental Insurance
I would do 1/3 and have my own policy assuming I could provide the proof the insurance company requires for reimbursement for the villa portion. Are you each paying the rental company or owner? Or is one person making the full payment? Is there only 1 person listed on the rental contract? These thin...

Re: Villa Rental Insurance
I just purchased insurance for our October trip. You choose the amount that you are insured for. Each person would need a policy for the expenses they prepaid that are non-refundable. Most policies also include trip delays/cancellations/interruption (can help with lodging, re-booking costs, meals), ...

Re: VRBO has initiated their new service fee
If I was a first time visitor, I would probably find the payment arrangements through VRBO comforting. Since I am re-renting directly with a property owner, I feel comfortable paying directly. I do purchase trip insurance. I just booked a return trip in October. This will be our 6th visit. I was sho...
