Re: Argonauta Villa

Any thoughts about how family/kid friendly this villa is? Looks and sounds gorgeous!

Re: Ram Head Hike BE AWARE

Devastating. My heart goes out to that poor girl.

Maybe now the courts will take this seriously? Shame on that judge.

Trip with two 4-6 month olds (twins)

Insanity? Give it up already and wait 5 years?

Clearly I need a trip back to my paradise.

Re: Getting close to choosing a villa...Wind chime or Perela

I've stayed at Perelandra twice (2007 & 2008) and it remains one of my favorite villas. It was where we stayed on our first visit, so it holds a special place in my heart. They have done some work on it since (including the screened in porch) but even before it was beautiful. In terms of conveni...

Re: Help me Decide/Villa

I can speak a little bit to Beas Maison. We stayed there about 4 years ago, and I think they've re-done it since, at least that's what it looks like from the pictures. It suited us fine. It was a good size for 2 people, had everything we needed, fantastic views with a telescope to check out the loca...

Internet connection on the island

Does anyone know how reliable/consistent it is? Let's say, hypothetically, you had a chance to move there while keeping your current job and working remotely. How much of a hurdle would the connection issue be?

Re: Beaches that do not have a hard walk???

We went one year when I had just gotten off crutches from a broken ankle. One day we rented a dinghy to hit some of the beaches and snorkel spots that were a little further than I could handle walking. If you guys are up for that, it might be a good option.

Re: Rental car roach infestation

Edit and update to original post above.

Thanks for all the feedback! It didn't put any kind of damper on our trip, since we were mostly out during the day and never saw them then.

Walk of woe today, sooooo sad!! Miss my paradise already.

Rental car roach infestation

We are here on the island for our 5th trip and possibly my favorite trip so far. We're having an amazing time. So I feel silly for complaining. BUT... When we drive our rental car at night, there are roaches. It's not like they're everywhere...but we've killed them on doors, on seats, on the dash, c...

Anniversary dinner recommendations

Hubs and I typically go out for one "fancy" dinner. We've been to Zozo's, Asolare, and La Tapa. We loved them all and would gladly go back to any one of them. But does anyone have recommendations for another place for our special dinner?

How are the bugs right now?

We'll be on island next week and I am notoriously sensitive to bug bites. How are the Mosquitos and noseeums right now?

I'm also willing to accept any recommendations for bug repellants...even though they rarely work for me.

Re: Charter with kids (3-year-old)?

Thanks for all the responses, these have been super helpful.

Here's another question for those with experience. My son has very sensitive ears. Would a power boat be too loud? We'd bring ear protection, but also don't want him to have to wear them the whole time, ya know?

Re: Weather?

As Pia has noted, there is usually a 7 - 10 day stretch of back to back bad weather (rain, overcast) sometime every spring and fall, which can be a bummer if you arrive about the same time that it starts. We hit this on our last trip a couple years ago around Memorial Day. We had 1 or 2 days of sun...
