Can I chime in here even tho we've only been here a few months? The 2 of us moved to STJ from NJ when the economy fell apart last winter. We had visited once or twice a year for about 5 years. We are grateful to many locals we got to know during those visits- they've helped us acclimate and with job...

From what I saw, I think Brigadier was the third barge. It showed up pretty regular and took the commerial vehicles to STT. Only the big Mr.B won't be running.

The people there are very nice and they have a selection of spirits that can't even be found on STT (i.e.single malt scotches ). Prices are not 'for the Westin customers' and they seem to have pretty good produce. A girl in there said they trying to get 'locals' in.

If you get out to Vie's and Pelican Rock, the next beach to the east is Long Bay. That has good snorkling from Pelican out to the boat moorings. And then the far southeast corner has a nice coral ledge in pretty shallow water and then is a great snorkle along that whole side out past several points....

Just met a local girl who is going to Morristown for school. Lots of NJ connections here.

Wow. What a great Sloop endorsement. But my opinion is a little tainted- my wife just started working for Sloop and Barb a few months ago(say "hi" to Angie). VERY nice people, too.

I don't believe we've ever been able to print them on STJ for any trip back to the states. Also, STT airport will say it is too small to need the boarding passes. Just have your confirmation number with you.

There are on-going meetings on this but it does hurt ones like Sloop. To repeat visitors it seems simple but new visitors can be confused as it is.

Exit Zero is a cynical one- but right. North Shore is the best road on the island. We are always weaving into the oncoming side to avoid potholes and spilled concrete. But, I guess, if it keeps a steady stream of tourists, that is good too.
