Rain Rain Go Away

I'm getting worried. In years past we've seen the 30% chance of rain every day on the weather report and realized that it meant a nice shower during the day and a great light show and rain at night.....but I am wondering about the weather this year. It sounds like there's been A LOT of rain on St. J...

Hole and made the trek down to the water twice and after fighting our way through a million sea urchins we found the water to be cloudy and NO FISH. we were on the right side if you are standing...

I heard that you can go to the National Park office and get a "real Friends of the Park Plate" In California we can use it "unofficially" in the front of our car....too cool. I will try to pick one up the trip.

Beach Bar vs. Woodys

On all our trips to SJ we have choosen to "hang" at Wooodys after long hard days on the beach or snorkeling. It seems that members of this forum favor the Beach Bar and we were wondering why. We've never really been to Beach Bar (though of course we knew it was there) We are always l...

Sport Fishing in July

Thanks Bob for the info. We just all believe in catch and release because we hate to waste a life...however if these guys depend on the catch for their livelyhood we certainly understand. I'll have my son discuss all this before the boat leaves the dock :D I have heard that the people at "Gone ...

'Sport Fishing in July??

Well the #1 son (32yrs) is thinking he would like to go sport fishing....catch and release only. Can anyone tell me what might be running and if the 7-14 of July is a good time to go out. His last fishing trip in Hawaii was 5 hours without a nibble and very expensive so we're wondering if it would b...

over to the Baths and Soggy Dollar

Great! I'd forgotten about Ocean Runners...we've rented from them before and having a captain is a great idea if we plan to stop at Soggy Dollar (Painkillers and boat driving don't mix)
Thanks again

Over to the Baths and Soggy Dollar

Hi everyone...we will be on island from July 7-21 and will be joined by our 30 year old kids part of the time. We would like to take them over to the Baths and to Soggy Dollar. Any suggestions? Many of the day sails we've taken on previous visits have lots of stops and we really just want to spend t...
