How to score this

We added a Bimini Ring game to our patio to deal with the VI addiction. This has only occurred twice in the 4 months we have been playing but we are at a cross roads for scoring it. Very lively discussions, directly related to the level of rum in the punch. One 'ting' equals 1 point, two 'tings' equ...

Re: New Shop

While technically not part of this post... Some while back International House Hunters had an episode about two guys moving to STJ opening a shop for pets and offering pet care services. Did this ever make it? We did not see it in Cruz Bay although we really didn't go out looking for it either. Alwa...

Re: Sago palms replacement house in architectural digest

Sago Palms was indeed a gem and we were fortunate enough to stay there just before the end. The idea that Sago "blocked their view of STT sunsets" really torqued me but unfortunately that is what money can do for/to you.

Re: Pulled The Trigger Too Quickly

I always have to smirk when reading NE 'complaints' concerning airfares to USVI. While I am sorry you couldn't get your $371 rate, you should still consider the $571 a savings. I know I would where flights from Houston never seem to be less than $600 and I felt lucky to get ours at $620 for the same...

Re: What's on your Play List??

Ours is very eclectic having been started by my son for one of our trips and added to over the years. Some not mentioned earlier...(and I am ripping some of those mentioned) Love Shack - B52s (come on, how can you not if not for old times sake) That's Right - L Lovett The Perfect Wave - K Bowe On th...

Re: BeGold Rentals? Chocolate Hole villa

Definitely something going on... They are advertising Villa Chez Shell in G Cruz Bay for $200/night regardless of date when VRBO lists at $443-800 depending on season. Be interested to find out how they got so many photos of the villa. As the saying goes, "If it sounds too good to be true...&qu...

Re: Underwater Cameras

psufan (what year?) and surfnh Thank you both for input. We are leaning toward Go Pro with screen for underwater as my wife has the Canon for land shots and we use iPhones for everything else. One comment on Go Pro blogs was the editing is not as easy or intuitive as it might seem so taking is easy ...

Were you able to run the comparison of GoPro to Olympus? We are trying to determine which way to go for our trip in June

Re: Dem Backtime St John Dazes

Okay, that just brought back so many names and memories. Explains why my wife and I get a soulful, giddy and contemplative look on our faces all at the same time whenever STJ is mentioned.
Thank you so much for finding & sharing that.

Re: Reef Bay area

We always stay in Reef Bay area. Remote for privacy but close enough to Cruz and North Shore for convenience. What price/amenities are you looking for in a villa? Not as many to choose from compared to areas between Reef and Cruz Bay. The trail Coconuts linked to is spelled out really well in our ST...

Re: 19 years with the bug!

It's a theme... We also 'honeymooned' on STJ...5 years after we were married in '79 (couldn't afford one before that). We were big into camping at the time and bought a Nat'l Geo book about the National Parks. After looking into the usual venues we came across the VI. Not much of a right up but it s...
