Re: Verizon phones on island

Minde: Even though you may have unlimited data & texting, be mindful of any warnings you receive from Verizon on your phone. I have a Verizon plan identical to yours. This summer, even with unlimited data, I received messages that I had exceeded my plan's limits. I called Verizon International S...

Re: Villa Rental Help/May 2013

I'd highly recommend Morgan Point out on Maria Bluff, which my family stayed at last June. It meets all of your criteria.

Re: Non - stop flights for July?

United does fly nonstop from EWR to STT (and nonstop back) on Saturdays & Sundays.

Wow! All those rays!

Here on the northern NJ shore, they're closing the beaches due to an invasion of the critters. (Not talking Snookie.) Water has been unseasonably warm here.

Anyway, great pics!

We have Verizon, and used our smartphones in STJ on our recent trip. Beforehand, I confirmed w/ Verizon the applicable rates. $2 p/m for outgoing cell calls. No issues with texting or data, as we have the Unlimited Plan. Once we were there. No problems at first. Then later, got alerts that we were e...

STJ to JVD is currently $70 r/t. Plus $5 pp BVI departure tax, payable at BVI Customs when you leave. Ferry ride can be paid via credit card. Departure tax cash only. My wife & I took the ferry on 5/28. I agree with what others have previously recommended here. Go to White Bay first. It becomes ...

+1 for BitS!

My daughter ordered a birthday cake for my wife's 60th a couple of days ago. It was really good. Mocha frosting w/ custard & raspberry filling.

Got the 10" cake for $38.

BitS is located just before the Tamarind Inn. They close at 400pm.

I first heard this distant sort of rumbling, like one of the ferries passing by. Then the big bang, like an explosion. Really shook our place @ Gallows. Then the rumble tapered off. Much stronger than the one we felt here in 6/06.

John:

Looks interesting.

Where did you get onboard the ferry? National Park Service Dock? And did you purchase your tickets on the ferry?

Follow Up

Clock ticking. Only three days.

I did book w/ Rachel. There will be another couple w/ us on the trip to Red Hook, but we're planning on the 300PM ferry from Red Hook, so will have ample time to get there.

Nancie ... We may just do Miss Lucy's FMP on 6/4. Look for the throng of 11 people!

This is a link to a SkyChart for the month of May in the Caribbean region. The Southern Cross ... the constellation "Crux" ... is due south in the diagram. http://skymaps.com/skymaps/tesme1205.pdf Since this chart is for theoretical observation at the Equator, Crux will be lower in the hor...

IMO, you'd have a difficult time seeing one from STJ. Besides STT & the out-lying cays generally blocking a view of the horizon, the low clouds particular to that region would foul up a perfect view of the sunset. (Although those same clouds contribute to creating some great colors at sunset!) I...

Cost of Rachel to Red Hook?

Time to pick the minds of some kindred spirits. Wife Jackie & I are almost in our 30-day window before we depart for STJ. United (the airline formerly known as Continental) initially said that we'd arrive at Cyril King from Newark at 11:30AM, but then rescheduled us for a 1:15 PM arrival. So ......
