Re: Limo food?
Some of my favorites are ripe figs, cut in half and wrapped with a piece of prosciutto (if you cut each slice in half lengthwise it's plenty to wrap the fruit) . I find nice figs at Whole Foods or Fresh Market. You can also use cantelope but I don't think it's quite as good. Or , if fresh figs aren'...

OMG! That's who he was?! We always called him Dumbledore....like from Harry Potter. Seems like we almost saw him every time we stopped at Skinny Legs.

Re: Anyone had experience using the OtterBox Armor Series Ca
I don't have any personal experience with it, but my son recently helped me buy a new cell phone and was talking to the sales girl about it. She was excited about getting one because she'd seen some sort of promotional video or something where they drove over it with a car and had an elephant stand ...

Re: Carry on question?
I would try to stay as close to the size restriction as possible so that you bag isn't turned away at the gate. Don't be afraid of the offer of gate checking your bag usually at the gate area shortly before boarding. It eliminates having to find a spot in the overhead compartments and your bag is wa...

Re: Oh no! First-timers leaving in a week, lots of questions
I am so excited for your trip report to see your first impression of the island! Every bit of advise here was right on target and I hope it made your first trip the ultimate experience. And I truly hope that getting a car let you really appreciate the island for more than just Cruz Bay!! Also excite...

Re: Oh no! First-timers leaving in a week, lots of questions
Do rent a car for as many days as you can. When you take that first drive up North Shore Rd and stop at the first pull over and take a look you will understand why everyone is telling you that. You're going to want to explore the whole island because the whole thing is just so dang gorgeous! Cruz Ba...

Re: 5 BR Villa~
Are there any kids in your group? If there is a situation where kids could stay in an adjoining area but still separate from the adults then Blue Papaya might work for you. It's a gorgeous villa in Virgin Grand Estates and has a fantastic view towards St. Croix. It's advertised as four bedrooms, but...

You are going to be OK......you are going to be MORE than OK!! Not only is your son entering a new and exciting phase in his life, but YOU are on the threshold of what could become the most enriched and satisfying phase of your own life. Dry those tears, kiss your son and let him know that you'll al...

Re: The Official OT Food Porn
I was contemplating what to make for dinner that would be refreshing and came across the Chicken Larb recipe mentioned by Liamsaunt a few months ago. I decided to pair that with a cold Thai style rice salad and both were amazingly delicious. I mixed some sliced green onions with the cilantro and min...

I say see how things go, check with your doctor and use the trip insurance to cancel only if you absolutely must. As long as you're not having any complications there really should be no reason NOT to go. That will be you last opportunity to take a trip as a couple before you turn into a "famil...

Re: Waterproof camera
Yay me!!! I just ordered the Panasonic because it was only $129 thru Groupon and I really wanted an underwater camera for my next trip in December. The price is what attracted me along with it appearing to be an easy camera to use. I'm thrilled to hear that someone says it does a decent job. My husb...

Re: Beaches that do not have a hard walk???
Maho is probably your best bet - they've built a new parking area and there are bathrooms now too. Hawksnest isn't too bad. Lameshure is a rough drive but if you can get there early enough to snag a good parking space it's not a bad walk to the beach. Jumbie is much easier now with the new board wal...

I also run back to the ticket counters and ask for how ever many custom forms we need. Never had any problem getting them.

Re: Luggage storage question quick!
I think you can have one of the porters at the ferry dock watch it. I've never taken advantage of it personally, but every time we've been there waiting and taking turns watching the luggage we've had the porters ask if we wanted them to watch our luggage. I've seen them watching luggage for others ...
