Re: HIGH SEASON DREAMING
We are unavoidably high season people. We are timeshare owners and our weeks are the last three in March. We own two and our best friend owns the last week. We have been coming for the last 17 years and have seen those weeks get busier and busier. We've learned to accommodate to the crowds by leavin...

Re: Which and Why ?
We are there in March and the evening breezes plus a ceiling and floor fan have always been enough. On occasion we have used the lofts ourselves. On the other hand, I do not personally know how it is in October. I know it can be hot, so I can understand your reluctance. Air in the main is coming, bu...

Re: Which and Why ?
For two couples, Sunset Ridge might be just right, since each unit consists of two buildings. There is a recently refurbished master suite with a king bed and full private bath. Across a private courtyard is the main two story building that has the kitchen, laundry, dining and living areas. Upstairs...

The Island Hydrator
Large glass, lots of ice, shot of coconut rum, squeeze of lime and fill with seltzer. Stay hydrated my friends.

Re: What the what?
The previous place served great fried chicken. Now I am not a fried chicken expert but it was always pretty good and we were disappointed when the Longboard moved in. We haven't had time to try it yet.

Re: What the what?
Raceway Gas is up and operating but fuel trucks are having a dickens of a time making it over Jacob's Ladder. On Friday a tractor trailer jackknifed on the hill turning the trailer on its' side and flipping the the tractor so it was sitting on its' rear wheels with the cab up in the air. Traffic was...

Re: What the what?
We are currently on island now. So what can we add to the discussion? Oh, DJ the long time bartender at the Banana Deck is the new owner of Deli Groto cum Northshore Deli. So it was kept in the family so to speak. We had a wonderful day at Maho and saw the most turtles we have ever seen in one place...

If you don't mind cooking
If you don't mind cooking there is a cheap pork shoulder at Starfish. Give it a good dry rub, wrap it in tin foil and put it on the grill low and slow for about 4 hours. A little bbq sauce and there you go. Feeds a lot.

Re: Sunset Ridge Villas
FinsUp is correct. There is now AC in the Master Suites. AC in the Main building soon come. (Each unit consists of two buildings.) Here is interesting footage of a unit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KbquOGNCv4 We are there mid-March to April and never use the AC. I think SRV currently charges an...

Re: STT recomnendations for one night
We haven't done this in a few years but when we were in your position then, we stayed at the Crystal Palace. http://www.crystalpalaceusvi.com/ In the past, Ronnie Lockhart the proprietor picked us up at the airport, and in the morning we walked down to the ferry for STJ, no cabs. Ronnie himself is a...

Re: SJU > STT via Cape Air? Opinions?
Because of where we live, every flight to STT is a double hop. Last year's reservation on United was changed from a direct flight from EWR to STT to a stop at SJU, a long layover and a Cape Air flight to STT. As we approached the end of our four hour layover we were bumped from our flight and had to...

Where would you go?
This is slightly off topic but it might be fun to consider. Because of last year’s flight issues, we have been given a voucher for free round trip tickets on Cape Air. (Long story which I may have blabbed about on this forum previously.) Anyway, we will be on island for three weeks at the end of Mar...
