Re: Irma
Laura and I are still dealing with Harvey here in Texas but the impact on STJ feels like a death in the family. We are walking around in a daze. I know they will recover and move forward and we will be there to help but this is brutal.

Re: 1:05 Layover in Miami?
The thought of worrying about the connection (even before the flight) and actual race to gate if all goes well is not what I would have in mind when going on vacation. Arrival of 3:40 is not bad all things considered. Take your time, relax and enjoy.

Never been myself but the in-laws loved Punta Cana, Dominican Republic AI resorts. I believe they went to Hard Rock but there are others.

#1. Remembering the North Shore road conditions in early 80's, paved and maintained roads
#2. Roundabout
#3. ZoZo's relocation
We have never gone during high season so parking has never been a real issue. To be honest, the move to eliminate free in favor of fee parking is less inviting.

[quote]Sorry folks, that should have been base cost of $40./quote]
Read better with base rate of $0 and a tip of $50.

Re: Peter Bay Next month, suggestions
Are they typically active, or more laid back? If not too young, hikes are always a great way to explore, especially if ruins are involved. Those opposite Cinnamon are a great option as the walk is not to strenuous and is mainly in the shade with the beach only a short walk down the road. Annaberg is...

Re: What was your first impression of St. John?
It has always been the only place I can truly let down, relax and recharge the soul. Much has changed since our first trip (long before you were a thought in ones mind) but the beauty and peace of the island is difficult to match. Our first trip was based on a National Geographic book on US Parks. T...

Taxi with car seat?
Our trip next June may include our daughter's family with our then 15 month old granddaughter. They do not plan to travel with car seat and while we will be renting one on STJ, getting from airport to Red Hook and return is a potential issue. Is anyone aware of any service that can provide one? If n...

Re: How to access Reef Bay from Parrot Bay?
The peak is Cocoloba Point and you missed the LH turn off if you approached the top of it. As you are driving along Reef Bay Road you'll cross the one lane bridge and proceed up grade. Shortly after, there is a road to the left which is actually Reef Bay Road continuance. If you do not make the turn...

Re: How to access Reef Bay from Parrot Bay?
You need to go along Reef Bay Road until you reach an all wood (weathered dark brown) villa on the LH side. Just to the right of the villa is a telephone/power pole and you will see a path that drops off from the road. There is a series of rope 'bannisters' to assist on the way down and back up. Thi...

Re: Fourth Trip, What's New?
We have always enjoyed Haulover North. Not a sand and sitting beach but the snorkel is amazing and the 'hike' is no issue with just the two of you. We go to the West side (left looking at water). Lamshures are worth the trip but you need 4WD. If it has rained, be prepared for cloudy conditions in th...
