I highly recommend Cleve of Local Flavor Charters. He is St. John based, has lived here his whole life, is a super nice guy, and loves the ocean and fishing more than anyone I've met. I've been out with him many times, both island hopping and fishing. You can call him at 340-513-1431. Have a great t...

It's not really gone, just a new name. Mojo had new owners, a mother daughter duo, for a brief period last season. Bill and Olivia have taken back over, given it a new name, a little change up in the menu, and the same awesome food and service that they have always had. Great breakfast, and great lu...

For a lot of locals anything below 75 is cold. I wear jeans and sweaters in the winter all of the time. When I first moved here I thought the locals with coats on were crazy. Now I get it. And the grocery stores! Forget it! I have a fleece in my car for grocery shopping. I also sleep with a down bla...

I hope everyone had a lot of fun!! This is the first year I didn't volunteer. Last year I did it 7 months pregnant, but couldn't figure out how to do it with the little guy this year. We were there in the morning and energy was high! It's so fun to watch all of the kids running around :) Thank you t...

High Tide - New Menu

Last week High Tide rolled out their new menu. Seems like it's been received really well. I am usually only in town for lunch, but did have their iceberg heart salad and it was super good. The chicken salad wrap quickly became the favorite with the staff. You can check out their new menu here http:/...

Yes, they are closing up the retail store. BUT, they are still going be making jewelry. They are just getting out of the retail end of it, will still be wholesaling. They came to us about a year ago and we have been selling their work in our store since then. We will continue to sell have their work...

Just thought I'd let you guys know that Coral Bay Jewelers is having a HUGE sale right now. They are going to be closing up shop come the end of the year and took a week off to mark down all of their jewelry. Being in the business myself, I can tell you, the prices are very very low, a steal. So if ...

I just wanted to say something about connectivity.... As much as I love my computer and email and all of that, I have to say that I am often very very sad when I see people here on St. John vacationing with their wives, husbands, friends, families, and they are all sitting at the table looking at th...

Seems to be working out pretty good. We still have a number of tourists who smoke while walking around. Sometimes someone tells them something, sometimes they don't, but you don't have smoking at the bars any more. I know of a couple of locals who have taken it upon themselves to be the smoking poli...

They won't be closing, so stop in! They had talked about maybe closing for a couple of days to paint and such, but I think that they decided that they can just get in there really early and paint a little bit at a time. I know Jimbo is usually down there by 7am. He opens up the gate for me so I can ...

I'm not a vegetarian, vegan, or like my husband, pescetarian. But I do love Forward to Your Roots for lunch. I was glad to see the article about it. A lot of people have never heard of it. They do put out a little sandwich board sign on the corner of the basketball courts, but since it is not on the...

Forward to Your Roots

I've mentioned this little local restaurant before as one of my favorites, and favorite vegetarian places, and just saw an article on the St. John Source. Thought I'd point it out to you all :) http://stjohnsource.com/content/news/local-news/2011/09/04/work-forward-your-roots I love his lentil balls...

I guess maybe my answer will differ because I live here, but I think the Roundabout is awesome. I do not miss that screwy intersection at all and the roundabout helps traffic flow a lot easier and much more safely. And once they started the project, I think that the people who constructed it did an ...
