Re: Making the 3pm RedHook Ferry....
I think you will make it especially if you do carry-ons only. Many times the flights are early and the ferry leaves late and with a private Taxi it should be a breeze. Tell your group to pack half as much and bring twice as much money...but you are the BOD(Bank of Dad)...so you bring the money in a ...

Re: Honeymoon Beach @ Caneel
It is still one of our Favs...but Lil Cheeze doesn't like all the crowds and the concessions that bring more folks. She recalls earlier days of her youth(she was about 10 at the time( 8 years ago) that there were only about 15 people on the entire beach and our group made up 8 of those. I remind her...

Re: Another Island ?
GTC Green Turtle Cay part of the Abacos in the Bahamas. We 'cheated' on STJ last year and stayed at a house ON the beach and drove around in golf carts and rented an 24' runabout for 3 days for just $400. Paul and Tracy( from the forum) have been and love it too. And Vicki H a long time STJ Forumite...

Re: 2 hours in Charlotte Amalie
We have eaten at Hook Line and Sinker in Frenchtown a couple of times. We love the location being right on the water. Sometimes the sea plane takes off while you are there. The food is very good also. I wouldn't expect the cruise ship to cause much of a difference in Frenchtown but I could be wrong...

Congrats on your next visit to Love City.
To get rid of the 2nd ticker; Go to User Control Panel, Profile, Signature and you'll see the 2 tickers delete from [img] to the 2nd [img]
At least I think that will do it
Enjoy the Journey!

Re: Where to stay for 2 days
Emerald Beach by the airport is a good place to begin a trip...kinda breaks up that 1st day of travel and the pool, beach and tiki bar get you on Island Time. The 2nd day you can do some shopping, explore STT a lil have a great lunch at Hook Line and Sinker in Frenchtown and even a day trip to Water...

Re: What was your first impression of St. John?
Yes Lil Cheese...what are your earliest memories and why is STJ your fav place? Anyways, we were on a 7 day cruise and one of the options was to be ferried into STJ or stay with the ship to STT...guess which one we took? The year was about 1990 something and we were quickly taken back with the beaut...

Re: Best Lunch in Coral Bay?
I agree with Lil Cheese...But in defense of those other eateries, she hasn't been to some of them yet...she's only 17 and has only been to STJ and the BVI's about 20 times so far.

Re: Trip Report Jan 6-Jan 22 - It's better in the VIs
TY captain and love the new boat! We did a powerboat day charter to the baths and Pussers and then to Soggy and after it was all said and done it was about $500 per couple...I asked my friend how that $500 Painkiller tasted...lol. It was fun and the kids loved it and we had Captain Ben as our guide ...
