Re: It won't be long.....

5 years is a long time... Good to hear you are getting back on the island. If I remember correctly, you loved Maho Bay Camps. Of course, they are no longer there... Do you know where you will be staying? Wherever it is, I imagine you couldn't be happier to be back on St. John. We weren't sure if we ...

Re: Trip Report 2/22-3/3

Don't worry - your trip report is not overly long and I appreciate that you took time to post it. :) Sounds like you had a great trip. We love Coral Bay, too, and prefer staying on that side of the island. I am so sorry to hear about the man who died while snorkeling. Snorkeling is my favorite activ...

Re: 10 more days in paradise, final

We arrive June 11th. Are we missing each other again? We would've been on island at the same time if we had stuck with our preferred dates. We were forced to move our dates a couple of weeks earlier so we could get more affordable flights. We used to reserve accommodations way in advance and then b...

Re: 10 more days in paradise, final

As always, very much enjoyed your trip report! John will hate me for saying this but you are right - if the Patriots lose again, you might end up on St. John again. It sounds good to me... coming from someone who is not into football. :) What part of June will you be on the island again? We'll be th...

Re: St. John Trip Report (New) - Ferensak -4/1/09 -4/8/09

We stayed at Sea Spirit and find ourselves often longing for being on the deck at that little cottage. It's one of the best views that we've ever had on St. John (as you said, no other houses in sight :) ). We almost picked Honeymoon Cottage for our upcoming trip but opted to go with another propert...

Re: Extra Virgin Bistro - location?

Regarding Extra Virgin (I don't mean to hijack your post, Sue), I would appreciate suggestions for how far in advance we should make a reservation in off-season. Will a few days prior be okay or earlier? The place seems to be doing really well and we don’t want to miss it.

Re: 10 more days in paradise, part two

Love those Porcupinefish. Great shots! And what can I say about your food porn? They look so devour-able… or to extend the pleasure - nibble-able! One of our all time best snorkels was at very calm, flat and clear-as-glass Haulover North around 2010. I spotted a Spotted Spiny Lobster (to me, they lo...

Re: 10 more days in paradise, part one

Happy to see and read your trip report!

Was this trip planned rather last minute? We did that last summer and it was kind of fun. Scrambling (to some degree) to find available accommodations, jeep and plane tickets with JOY - well, for us, anyway.

I'm moving on to read part 2 now...

Re: Trip report St John 2016

Very much enjoyed your travel blog. It has been a rough couple of months, personally. Our next trip to St. John has been set but I wasn't even looking forward to it (is that even possible?). Your trip report has cheered me up and reminded me to look forward. Thank you, cindygad. :)

Re: Pic's Pics & Report - August 2015

All the photos are taken with the Canon S110 (and its housing for underwater shots). Some photos are edited using Photoshop.

I used to use the Canon D10 & D20 for underwater shots. Once I got the S110, the D-series became my backups since I prefer the S110.

mls10 - Yes, it still is. We wished the master bedroom upstairs had that wonderful downstairs bathroom. I regret that it slipped my mind to take photos of that bathroom!

Pic's Pics & Report - August 2015

This trip was not expected to happen - but it happened in the end and was planned at the last minute. We found a great August/September deal on accommodations with VIVA. They were offering a 25% discount on some of their properties so we took advantage of it and reserved Sapphire Breeze. Here is the...

Re: 18 more days in paradise, final

Very much enjoyed your trip report as always. It's funny (because I feel old…) to see how your niece and nephew have grown up in your TRs since they appeared in them the first time. They are very, very lucky to have an aunt like you. I must say that the Francis sunsets are my favorite sunsets on St....

Re: 18 more days in paradise, part two

How exciting that you all saw the Manta and I can only imagine the faces of Caili and Liam (under the masks). We went to Great Lameshur a couple of weeks after you saw the Manta but had no luck. So for now... I enjoy your video and dream about meeting Mantas someday. The view from Coral Cove looks w...
