I have a recipe for individual beef wellingtons that I've used for years, that NEVER fails. Unfortunately, I don't have it here with me at work. OK... I'll admit it... I "sometimes" check the forum at work. I'll post it after the weekend. Too late for Christmas, but maybe in time f...

Also wishing you a God Jul. Where in Denmark are you? My family is mostly in western Denmark, in Ribe and Vedsted. I had heard about the snow in Europe, but didn't realize there was quite this much. Here in Minnesota, we're working on 1 1/2 meters, with 6 more inches on the way tonight. But... we're...

I'm with loria. We do most of our shopping in Coral Bay, and supplement from Dolphin when we're on that side. I remember the first time I went to Love City with a newbie friend.... she was scared to go in. But they do pack an amazing amount of stuff in there, and their prices are fair. I've never se...

We are not "high end" travellers, especially to STJ. Our goal is to swim/snorkle/hike our brains out, and when not doing that, just relaxing. 20 years ago, I was lured to the island by an article about camping at Maho. In the end, we didn't camp. Now, 20 years later, I'm no longer interest...

Just bumping up to the top again. I've been trying to vote every day.

Why is it that we never move up or down from #6? Let's have everyone blast a vote today and see if we can get it to move.

Highly recommended by friends who love laid-back atmosphere and great snorkeling are Culebra and Akumal. Haven't been to either one yet myself, but they're on my list. Almost booked Culebra for January, but the call of STJ won out!

Thanks SO much. Just solved one of my gift dilemmas! I'd forgotten how great these are, and one will be perfect for the couple traveling with us in January. (STJ newbies).
Thanks again for the link.

psufan.... I agree with you 100%. You are not alone! As soon as we start "thinking seriously" of heading to our favorite place, I immediately start lurking, and occasionally posting. Once or twice everyday. But, after we get back home.. if we don't have another trip in the works, I simply ...

Ordered mine last week and received everything Monday. The calendar is beautiful. I bought it as a gift for the couple traveling with us in January (first timers), but I'm not sure I can part with it. Might have to order another!

Thanks so much for all of your info and clarifying the location. I think a trip w/ Capt. Phil might be in order on this next trip! Love to try new places to snorkel.

Where is this?

So, in eager anticipation of another trip to STJ in January, I splurged and ordered a newer edition of "Off the Beaten Track", a new map, fish card, and the Steve Simonsen calendar as Christmas gifts. The calendar is beautiful. But one of the months shows an underwater pic, titled "Th...

Google Map Question

After a 2 year hiatus, we're excited to be planning another escape to STJ in late January. Kid's off to college, so no longer do we have to plan our trips during school breaks. Woooohooooo. My geeky husband has a question for the locals or frequent STJ travelers: He's a Google Map-aholic, and is ama...

We've had good luck with the brunch.... but not-so-good experiences with the Hog roast. Regular meals were fine.
