Thanks, Pia. Having been to STJ in '93, and then again in '07 and '08, we never even saw skeeters except maybe at the Westin Beach Bar at night and a couple other places. Come to think of it, we did have skeeters at night in '07 when we stayed at Terrahawk, right above Gibney, where it's plenty humi...

New skeeter report?

We arrive on STJ Monday 7/20, and in looking at the weather, it appears that STJ is having or about to have quite a bit of rain. Can some forum members jump in and give us an updated skeeter report covering the next few days?

Thanks!

I just sent in a donation also. I'll be hitting up some friends that are STJ lovers as well. While I don't camp out anymore, we can't let this land go to developers.

I hope TPL is sucessful!

Thanks to all so far, esp. Pia! I've added those last 3 you recommended to the list to contact. I'm leaning much more toward the power boat instead of sail option. For a group that wants as much snorkeling time as possible, it seems we'll spend a little less time "sailing" to each snorkel ...

Great! So far, thanks to all, those are 3 great suggestions, and I'm checking into all 3 via web/email and prob. a phone call. If there's any other boat/captain we should know about, please weigh in!

Thanks

2 more questions - does anyone know what time the new St. John Market closes in the evening? And would anyone hazard a guess if they'll be fully up and running, with meats, bread, etc. by July 20th?
Thanks, all!

Thanks to all, we'll now be stopping there our first night on STJ instead of Starfish or the in-town Dolphin Mkt. Pia, thanks for the excellent description of their location, I can almost visualize exactly where it is! Then I should be able to turn left out of their parking lot and continue up South...

OK, from what Carolyn sez, it's very close to Westin, but between Westin and Cruz Bay, NOT past Westin, and on the same road you'd take if going from Cruz Bay to the Westin, correct?

Thanks, all!

Grocery market info needed

Is the new grocery market, supposedly run by the same people that run Dolphin market, open yet? It's supposed to be over by the Westin, "right across the street"? Exact location, anyone? We love the original Dolphin market, and due to the roundabout construction and lack of parking now at ...

Snorkel charter info needed

We'll be in STJ starting July 20. WooHoo! We're with another couple, and wonder if any forum members had recommendations for a half or full-day snorkel sail only. We've been to the BVI's last time, so we really want a snorkel-only sail to great snorkel spots around STJ. Our want list includes small ...

I think it's beginning to happen. We'll be in STJ July 20th, our Villa agent just reserved a Jeep for us with a 10% discount off of the usual off-season rates. She got it at C& C. I only switched to them after using Courtesy last year (good experience) because Courtesy moved from their convenien...
