I spent 3 weeks in Sydney about 5 years ago. I agree with TheShopper in that Sydney's train system is first-rate. Double-decker spotlessly clean trains. It goes for absolute miles... all the way past Wollongong (80 km) which would make an awesome day trip (in my opinion) and you could really see the...

What an interesting story. I was impressed with his level-headedness. So happy that it had a happy ending.

Fairly certain the dining hall has electrical outlets and Sun4MySoul is correct in that the bathroom at the far end doesn't really get daytrippers and I've left my camera batteries plugged in for a few hours and they've been fine (always a risk, however). Really no need to rent a vehicle to get to a...

You'll love NYC. You live so close... geez, I think I would be there monthly if I were only a few hours away.

I now recall the hotel I won on Priceline: Intercontinental Barclay. It was very nice and I would highly recommend it. Won it for $160/night.

Bucharest ?

I have an opportunity to visit Bucharest for two weeks over the Christmas/New Year holiday. Wondering if anyone has been there and what the hi-lites would be. I will have a Romanaian "tour guide" born & raised there, but I know how it is when people come to my City -- I take most of wh...

I was in NYC in July for 8 nights. From a tip of someone on this forum, I utilized PriceLine. I did not want to stay in Times Square so configured my bids so as not to get that location. I managed to get 54th & Lexington area which was walkable to Times Square in about 10-15 minutes. Only about ...

StJohnJulie ~ I agree 100%!

I attended a graduation dinner with 13 people (aged early-20's to mid-40's). At one point I looked around the table and 5 of those people were texting etc. Manners people, manners! And we wonder why our society is going to hell in a hand-basket.

I get aprox. 100 emails a day, 85 of those are internal (ie: a staff of 40). I colour code my emails so the 2 most important people that I need to answer to come in as either Red or Blue. Those two colours get my response ASAP. All the other emails come in black and they get an answer within an hour...

Joellg ~ Any word from your wedding planner yet? My heart sunk for you when I read your posts. What a nightmare. I sure hope she's finally responded, apologized and is getting things done for you toute de suite! Regardless, a wedding is not in the details, it's in the commitment to one another. Conc...

@Snorkles, what a lovely love story. I enjoyed it. My first foray to the Caribbean was to St. John, 4 years ago I think it was. I had planned to meet a blind date on the Island and we planned to camp at Cinnamon Bay for two weeks. He was coming from the US and me from Canada. Of course, I purchased ...
