Re: Villa help- Belvedere or Inn Love
I was really hoping to get some feedback on Inn Love - my husband and I are the new owners. We are continuing to make improvements and hope to be as popular as Coconuts one day! :) If you haven't been to Inn Love ( recently re-named to Villa Solare ) since 2006 you'll find many improvements includin...

Re: 19 years with the bug!
Happy Anniversary! We also honeymooned on St. John 19 years ago this past August! We were married in a little church on St. Thomas - Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Our 20+ guests stayed an extra day and we had an impromptu dinner at our rental villa on St. John - "Sea Cay". Our unique adventu...

Re: rent via vrbo or villa management company??
Historically, I've preferred to use VRBO for booking vacation homes. Recently, I've noticed more lack of responses from owners which is frustrating and more management companies involved in the bookings anyway so not sure it has many advantages. Now that we have a villa of our own to rent, we're usi...

Re: Need advice on choosing a villa for family vacation
We have a villa which I think you'd enjoy and is only about 10 minutes from town, 5 minutes to grocery shopping. We are located in Great Cruz Bay Estates, a very quiet established neighborhood. Check out http://www.vrbo.com/466293 It's also a short easy walk to the Westin where the children could en...

Re: Vacation with adult children
For an adventure, we enjoyed the Mayan Riviera...cheap flights to Cancun, rented car and drove south to a variety of resorts. Our favorite so far - Al Cielo http://www.locogringo.com/xpuha/alcielo.html?ID=819#txt Enjoy the beach or travel inland to snorkeling in cenotes, zip-line through jungles or ...

Re: Suggestions for 4br villa on Cruz Bay side
I can recommend Inn Love in Great Cruz Bay http://www.vrbo.com/466293 - we are the new owners! 2 Master suites in the main house and another three to choose from in the Cottage - all have their own baths and are air conditioned. Easy walk to the Westin where kids can play on the beach or rent water ...

Re: experience flying standby to Belize or last minute room
Since in this area you're away from the mountains, the beaches go on continuously so they are great for walking. We did a small amount of snorkling but there's not as many places as St. John. We did sail out to the Cays and did snorkling and scuba there. I had forgotten about our trip to Placencia! ...

Re: experience flying standby to Belize or last minute room
We loved Belize but planned everything in advance. We did not stay in Belize City but instead spent half the trip in Placencia - very inexpensive accommodation with the beach 10 ft from the door! Beach bars and restaurants. Then the second half in a jungle resort and explored the Mayan Ruins. But we...
