I'd vote Saloman if you are without car the first day, it's not a bad hike. We found it a nice way to launch our last trip as we were fresh/energized, stopped at the national park office on the way out, and the Tap Room on the way back.

Sogo's is right next door to Cruz Bay Boutique Hotel, follow Augie's instructions, when you see the hotel sign (3 story white building), it's tucked in a bit behind that sign, it's a little hidden.

Rhumblines is open, we had dinner there last week and it was great. We both had the Pad Tai and neither of us could finish, very good but alot of it. Next time we will split one and get an app or salad. Also, I've heard people say the Pad Tai was too spicy, I mentioned this to the waiter and he brou...

We are doing the exact same thing starting this Thursday, we plan on doing the Lind Point/Salomon thing, St Paddy's day parade thing, and a taxi to either Jumbie or Trunk. Then grab the Jeep and over to coral bay next week. Hoping with this plan we can enjoy both sides of the island.

I'm one of those that came home from a STJ trip and had a Wrangler within a month. I have one of those compass design tire covers and very happy with it, it fits nice and snug and has barely faded in 4 plus years. Jim, read your report on Jumbie, we head there in 21 days, can't wait. Only in a Jeep.

We stayed there in June 2007 when it was Tesseract, it's an older home but even back then it was in good shape, appears it's had a mild makeover since then. Good views of Chocolate hole and from the smaller deck you can see STT. Nice size pool. I believe there is AC in only a few rooms but we only n...

We have T-mobile and could get spotty reception in Cruz Bay and the northshore, but nothing in the villa we stayed at in Fish Bay last year. I can't recall if we had it in Coral Bay. No roaming charges that I remember.

Sometimes you have better luck doing midweek travel dates such as Thurs-Thurs. We are going next March using a Thurs-Friday schedule as that was all that was available even 329 days out. We have also switched to Cap One for this same reason. The other fun thing is dealing with AA changing flights, I...

I'll add my 2 cents. Went to St Martin once, fell in love with Anguilla on a day trip so went there 3 yrs in a row, looked for a change of pace and found STJ in caribbean travel and life so gave it a try in 2007, LOVED it. Back to Anguilla in 2008 but we both missed the lushness of STJ. Took another...

St Patty's Day 2012

Hey all, long-time lurker decided to join the fun. I just booked flights for our 3rd trip to the rock for March 2012 and considering staying in Cruz Bay for a few nights before heading over to Coral Bay. Does anyone know if the St Patty's day parade will be on the day next year March 17th? I couldn'...
