Re: Fill in the Blanks...

I am obsessed with STJ because the first time I set foot on the island I felt like I was home again. The first drive up Northshore Rd and the pullover over Trunk Bay sealed my infatuation. Then when I first put my snorkel mask on and looked at the sights UNDER the water I was head over heels in love...

Welcome Turtle Girl! You don't have to feel pressured to cram everything into one week. If you're like everyone else here, you WILL be back! Enjoy.

Re: Fun time even with a water ambulance: a quick trip repor

So far Blue Papaya has been my favorite of the villas we have rented! That makes a rainy day so much more bearable, doesn't it?

Re: A Winsome House - Ajax Peak

I've found that Destination STJ is great to work with and have almost always been able to get some sort of discount (repeat customer, off season, etc.). Never hurts to ask!

Re: Seascape in Chocolate Hole

Actually, if you Google 1 bedroom villas STJ V.I. a good selection comes up. Just noticed one called Grandview that I'd never seen before and it fits your budget. You might want to take a look.

Re: Seascape in Chocolate Hole

Sue - I know this is over your budget, but if you want a REALLY special experience check out Arc du Soleil. I've never stayed there, but showed it to one of my husband's coworkers who booked it for her honeymoon and loved it. She said it was hard to leave the villa because the views were SO astoundi...

Re: Help - Kia Ora versus Aria

I stayed at Kia Ora about a year and a half ago before the updates were done on the inside. Even though it was dated we really liked the location because it's only about a 5 minute drive from Cruz Bay. The outside areas are fantastic and you can't beat the view. I spoke with the villa rental agency ...

Re: Converting from STT to STJ

Hahahaha!!! Well, I was WONDERING why you'd stay in a one bedroom place with you Hubby and a best friend. Didn't pick up on that fact that they were one in the same. Anyway, Kia Ora is STILL cheaper even if it's just the two of you. Honestly, I will NEVER do the resort thing again if I have the opti...

Re: Converting from STT to STJ

Connie - I suggest going with a villa to get the full enjoyment out of the island. Some of the best parts are sitting on your own private deck at night listening to the frogs and watching the star show. You get plenty of people watching when you go into Cruz Bay or hang out at the various beaches. C...

Re: Newbie, going to the islands

All I can say is get ready to fall hopelessly in love with the place and be aware the you will forever have a unexplainable need to go back over and over. I only wish that I had discovered STJ in MY 20's instead of my 50's!!!!
