Re: Sad
Been hanging around since some time in 2002, and still check in just about daily. Back then, I was here multiple times a day because the joint was so jumping. Have finally scraped together enough free time and enough $$$$ to have trip #3 finally in the works. Villa is set (Coconuts - yay!), airfare ...

Re: Trip Report – May/June – Part 3 – Encounters with Critte
I've had two close barracuda encounters, both on my first trip. The first was a very large one, looked to be about 4 feet long or so, that was hanging out on the right side of Frances close to the point. I was almost on it before I spotted it but stopped dead still when I did. It turned to face me a...

Re: so apparently Sirenusa knew what terminex was using
I do not see how Sirenusa can be held at all responsible for Termix's illegal behavior. They hired a nationally know, supposedly reputable comapny to do pest control for them. It would be reasonable to assume the company used legal methods and materials.

Re: Insect Repellent suggestions?
According to Consumer Reports testing, Both Sawyer Picardin and Repel Lemon Eucalyptus are more effective than Deep Woods Off, which ranked third. Both Sawyer and Repel use less toxic ingredients, Off uses DEET. I prefer Repel because it won't harm my fishing gear, but it does have a fairly strong e...

Re: Pink Iguanas?!?
This from a green iguana pet-keeping page, regarding color changes: "During breeding season, iguanas colors will become much more bright, especially in males. They usually gain a lot of orange coloration that can be very vivid. It can look like they were dipped in orange paint, and it is predom...

Re: September, October, or November?
Our 25th anniversary trip during the first week of October was picture perfect start to finish. Some places were closed, but there were more open than we could get to during our stay. Beaches were very uncrowded as well. We bought trip insurnace in case of bad weather, but the only rain we had was o...

Re: Island Dreams Villa
I apologize and thanks for calling me on this. I am referring to Island TIME, not Island Dream. I get them confused in my feeble mind all the time. IN my best Roseanne Rosanadana voice: Nevermind................

Re: Island Dreams Villa
It was very private when we were there in October because nearby houses were not occupied. However, in high season I would not call it private. The neighboring villas, while not right on top of you, are certainly visible. When you are on the pool deck there is a villa visible to the right as well as...

Re: Island Dreams Villa
My husband and Ioved our stay in this villa. We were there in early October. Great view, convienient to Cruz bay for shopping/provisioning, pool was not chilly, lots of Banaquits, Iguanas in the trees, everything worked as it should have, no complaints. I have no qualms or caveats in recommending it.

Re: URGENT: Please Write a Letter
Here is another thought - how about writing a letter that says I want to bring to your attention all of these previously submitted objections" and then include those letters in the body of the new letter? I know, dumb. But uit just seems wrong that all of the previous comments will be ignored. ...

Re: URGENT: Please Write a Letter
"This, however, is a situation where a single letter has the ability to change the outcome."
I missed the deadline for writing in the first time around, but did send one this time. Maybe it's the one.

Re: Water temp in Oct ?
Average water temp is 82 - 83 in summer and 79 - 80 in winter, depending on the source you use for info. That would put Oct in the middle of the range. When we wen in October some years ago it was 82.
