Hansen Bay - Pelican Rock??

Hi, We will be on island in about 6 1/2 weeks....woohoo! We have never snorkeled Pelican Rock and are hoping to get that in this trip. During prior trips we had driven past Hansen Bay, but, never knew where to park. We have read that there is "structured parking" with a minimal fee, which ...

Honeymoon Beach @ Caneel

Hi, everyone! Would anyone happen to know which days of the week Honeymoon "might" have a "chance" of being "less busy/populated" than other days?? When we are on-island end of April into early May, we will of course avoid Ship In Port in STT days. But, does anyone know...

Re: Winsome House

Great choice!! We are heading back (at the end of April) for our third stay at A Winsome House. That fact, in itself, should tell you what we think of the place. It is now officially our "home away from home". The location on the island is perfect. The road is paved part way - then turns t...

Re: America Hill Hike, Ruins, & View

Thanks, Kevin!
We will be back on island the end of April. This looks like a great place to use our new camera that we will be breaking in... I hadn't heard of this hike before, sounds great!

Re: 8:10AM flight out of STT

Thank you for your comments. Even though we could get out of our rental a day earlier, I am pretty confident that doing the pros and cons that we would rather spend our last moments on St. John and not STT. So, most likely will go for either the LATE Jet Blue or the early afternoon Delta. I am just ...

Re: 8:10AM flight out of STT

Thank you, all. Actually prices are good. But, stupid Jet Blue, which we prefer to fly - have a nice flight 8:10AM to 3:45PM STT to BOS. OR 4:15PM to 12:19AM. Lousy choices. Delta has a decent flight 1:30PM to 10:26PM. Again, all prices are good now. Just need to decide whether or not to head to STT...

8:10AM flight out of STT

Hi, everyone!
We will be staying on St. John for 10 nights.
Is the ONLY way to make an 8:10AM flight on a Sunday in May by getting a hotel room on STT the night before??
I "know" that the first ferry from Cruz Bay to Red Hook doesn't leave until 6:00.
Thank you,
Sue

Thank you so much for your wonderful reports! LOVE the photos!! Truly gorgeous. Waterfront Bistro for lunch, will definitely be on the "to do" list for next year. Have done supper there, but never lunch.
Always love reading your trip reports and seeing your lovely photos!

Re: Help - BOS to STT Easter time 2017

Thanks, everyone for your suggestions and comments. With our "original dates of 4/13/17-4/23/17 wrapping around the Easter holiday and also school vacation week, we decided to cancel our "cheap accommodation" rental and unfortunately they did not have other workable dates available. S...

Water temperature early March versus early May

Any comments on water temperature during early March versus late April/early May. We are "toying" with the idea of changing a current reservation. We have always gone late April, early May.
Thanks!

Help - BOS to STT Easter time 2017

Need some help! Made villa reservations for the period of 4/13/17-4/23/17 for an incredible price. "Just" found out today that the airfare for that period of time is totally crazy. I "never" factored in that Easter is on 4/16/17 next year... Argh... We prefer to fly JetBlue non-s...

Re: One bedroom - off season

Thank you both for the reply. We are excited about our choice. We definitely will try to give the road to and from Chateau Bordeaux a try. Certainly looks worth a try. So, driving FROM Cruz Bay to Coral Bay would it be the road directly to the right of the Chateau Bordeaux complex? Any idea how long...

Re: One bedroom - off season

Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply. I actually "found" what we think is our "perfect choice". I found it by looking at the "villa reviews". Winner is...."Skyflower Suite". It is just a lower "apartment" with a dedicated living room/ki...

JMQ,
Your daughter is growing up way too fast!! I can remember her jumping off the rocks (in photos) on VG - if memory serves me right.

Re: Coming back for our 3rd year - any dreaded sea lice?

JMQ, you always kill me...!!! In answer to the sea lice question, we just got back and had "no" issues with sea lice. Someone did mention that last year was bad. No see ums were bad, though. My adult daughter and myself looked like we had chicken pox all over our legs by the second day. My...
