Donkey Diner has GREAT breakfast. Cafe Concordia was amazing too. They have a much better view and the day we were there it was Sunday brunch and they had live music. Mo was our server there - she is great and you'll also find her at Larry's and also, Donkey :) We kept joking that we were following ...

X, the hike to Yawzi point is maybe 10 mins max in flip flops and it has beautiful views. I wouldn't consider it a hike - more of a stroll and totally worth the effort :)

I'll pick 2. Or, maybe 3. Good news is that Maho is a 10 minute drive from Coral Bay. Now, to answer your question....Miss Vies is #1. You pay 2.50 for access but it's a lovely beach and the weather always seems to be perfect. I like the convenience of the snack shop for a cold beer. Be sure to make...

Excellent report - thank you. Congratulations on completing the 8 Tuff.

It's on my list and I agree with Kim, the medal does add to the motivation!

X, loria answered your question...I like both Coral and Cruz bay and switch out between my Jan and May trips. I never thought I'd love staying in Coral Bay but I do. We have gotten quite used to the drive across the island and often take the prettier North Shore route. It's fun to explore the beache...

Becky,

Just caught up on your trip report. Excellent as always! You have such great photos. Be sure to add Gastro Grub to your list to try in the Summer. We loved it.

We ate there last week and loved it (again). The paella is a bit different - still deconstructed but more put together. Bigger portions too. The owner had a table from a travel or food mag while we were there- I wish them the very best! Good people.

She has moved off island to work in her family's business. She did return for a 3 week vacation while I was there and we saw her working one night at Rhumblines. Not sure why she still has her site up unless someone else will take over. She is probably still on island for another 1.5 weeks.

Another vote for Gastro Grub. My husband loved the beef Wellington also. The owner, Alan is super nice. This place is off the beaten path so don't forget about it. We also tried Island Blues. The food was a pleasant surprise. We had a spicy Edamame, Thai wings and a soft noodle dish. All were great!...

Toes, I'll be sure to use Slimans once I'm on island :) Thanks all! I made an online reservation...it's crazy the range in pricing for parking - from 9-20/day. I'm glad I asked because I was originally just thinking I'd park in their long term parking and once I started seeing lots sold out for my d...

Newark Airport Parking Advice

I can't believe we leave in less then 2 days for 13 days on St. John - yah! For the first time, we're flying out of Newark v. Philly. We saved over $500 by doing so and we couldn't pass it up. What this means though is that we have to leave our home around 4:30 a.m. for our 7:45 a.m. flight - UGH! A...
