Not to pile on but I will not use St. John Car Rental again either. I bend over backwards to compliment STJ businesses and to be polite and professional when dealing with personnel but I was treated very rudely during the booking process by one of the women there, on several occasions. In addition t...

We hiked down to Soloman on our recent visit from the Lindholm Trail, which I would not recommend to you Xislandgirl if your knees bother you. Walking from Canneel is probably a better idea IMO. Soloman is beautiful but Honeymoon is my favorite of the two as long as the Catamaran based at the Westin...

Linne, please add my thanks to all of the others for all of the wonderful work you have done translating that piece. Fascinating stuff! I often wish we had more information about the Tiano Indians on STJ, who are believed to have left the petroglyphs near the pool on the Reef Bay Trail perhaps 1000 ...

In my opinion, there are pros and cons to both harborfront and ocenafront units. Later in the season I feel that the harborfront suites get a better breeze but they do get more noise both from ferry traffic and night sounds from the Beach Bar. That's not really an issue if you close up and turn on t...

Thanks Maryanne! So here is my debut effort. #2 had a hankerin' for some French Onion soup. The old me would have called 86 and told him to meet us somewhere that had it on the menu. The new me said....I can do this. In the spirit of full disclosure I will admit that I bought a few cans of Progresso...

Beautiful!. My in-laws used to live in Truckee which is why we've been to the North Coast a few times. We flew in and out of San Fran and drove up the coast as far as Portland, Or. and down as far as Carmel. It was all just breathtaking. I had never seen such vistas before..... you can quite literal...

You folks really inspire me to try to be a better kitchen witch. As I may have mentioned, I am NOT a natural talent in that department, but I am trying to improve. Last night I tried to recreate a dish from a Cuban restaurant that we love up here called Naked Fish. It's not really a Cuban dish but t...
