You may have been stung by something, or a reaction to the latex, or something the snorkel was cleaned with, although I think a bleach solution isnused to disinfect.

Tracy, sounds like agreat trip... A question about the kayaks, are they stable? The website says max 400 lbs, my husband goes about 250 and is 6'3" do you think he would feel cramped or tippy? They were very stable for us - I would be more concerned with his height since there are places for y...

Maybe the owners of all the mega million $$ villas on STJ should just buy a vehicle or 2 for the exclusive use of their rental tenants - easily added to the rate cost after the insurance issue is resolved - and it can become just another discretionary amenity requirement like A/C and swimming pool....

This really set me off today... maybe I do need a vacation, but its like renting a car in NY and saying you can't bring it to NJ. It's all the same territory for pity sake!
I see a snowball effect definitely, higher prices, less availability... I really object to having my choices arbitrarily limited.

I'm sorry for all you folks who rent on STT and stop by Cost-U-Less and do big shopping. What a hassle. Me? I've never rented a car on STT and never go in high season, so it won't affect me. If you spend the money on a private taxi, won't they stop at Cost-U-Less and stock up? I realize it would be...

Also, what if you live on St. John and want to make a run to Home Depot on St. Thomas - is it now an extra $1000 fine.....?
The reg applies specifically to rental cars only, so residents would not be effected.

This is exactly the kind of regulation which makes me think twice about a return trip. I want my vacations as stress free as possible, for me I find all the transfers involved in taking the people ferry a real hassle. It's going to be some scene when folks arrive to pick up their cars on STT only to...

Maho is an easy snorkle, turtles and rays can be spotted if you are lucky. I like Hawksnest, in the center really close to shore there is a large elkhorn forest, although I heard storms ove the past few years have damaged it. Just stick to the perimeter, dont go too far in it can get shallow.
