Re: Villa suggestions much needed.
La Papaya would fit the bill. We've stayed there three times over the years. Just past the Westin on the left up Rock Ridge Road. Very easy to get to town, the pool is great and so is the view.
Glad it is warming up in SC!

Re: Food
We freeze our meats and pack them in a soft sided cooler. We leave our home around 4:30 - 5:30 in the morning. We get to the villa 10 - 12 hours later and the meats are still frozen.

Re: Philly to STT
Wow you people are lucky. We have to fly out of SAV or CHS and we rarely see flights for less than $600 with just one stop. Once had a good price of SAV-JFK-STT for $400 but it too long a day and we probably would have had to spend the night in STT. Another time it was CHS-MIA-SJU-STT - too much can...

Re: Car Barge info
We've rented from Amy & Dependable on STT and both were great. We've also used St. John Car Rental & L&L. We've always brought proof of insurance so no big deal for us. The car barge situation has changed our thinking for our next trip. I knew someone who spent 4-5 hours at Red Hook wait...

Re: Car rental necessary? Staying in Cruz Bay..
We stayed a week at Gallows Point without a car - never again. The bus ride to Salt Pond was terrible and the cabs to other beaches was too expensive. Live and learn.

Re: Decision Decision
We have driven the road a couple of times because there are a few nice villas for rent there. We decided against it and booked a home in Upper Bay. Same price and MUCH easier to get to and from. I read one of the reviews where the person said you get used to it. Well everyone is different and if you...

Re: Planning a trip in May looking for villa input
We like Vista Caribe, next to Blue Papaya, better. The three bedrooms in main house are all accessed via interior stairs. Made it feel much more like home to us. Rented in two years in a row. This year we went to Peter Bay.

I was lucky today to book two first class seats on Delta for our 05/24 - 06/02 trip next year!! We fly out of Savannah and until this year have never found two seats.

Re: Two more weeks in paradise, part one
Lazing away is not hard to do on St. John. :) It's nice to have a beach, even if it's pebbly, right outside the door. How do you like the location? We've stayed in that area twice but higher up. We walked down to Klein Bay. I recall walking back up was a bit of a struggle. When you snorkeled Klein ...

Re: Love City Car Barge Online Reservation?
We had a reservation this past June. We called the office to let them know we were on the way. When we got there we were the 2nd car. If things don't change drastically we will rent our car on STJ.
