Re: Report - 1st trip to STJ
Hi Thirdbird,
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed yourself for the most part. I've heard rumblings about the Beach Bar staff lately and have experienced a bit of what you described myself. I'm curious - what were your trip dates?

Re: The road down past the Denis Bay monstrosity
Thank you and yes, the road goes behind his house, then curves around in front of the former Sago Palms and then in front of his house. The road then turns again (u-turn) once you get to the retaining wall. From the wall, it is completely impassable. That is where I saw the majority of the damage.

You can also try Southwest to PR and then hop on Seaborne, which is cheaper than Cape Air.

Re: Talk to me about Sahara dust!
The good news is that there are pretty nice sunsets when the Sahara Dust rolls into towns. The bad news is that you're not going to get those stellar daytime shots with the super blue skies. Check out this post I wrote. It shows a webcam shot of a day with the dust and without. It gives you a good s...

Definitely a Jeep. The roads are very twisty and turny - not a good place to ride a scooter.

Re: No more JJ's?
Yeah, the rumor is that the old owner of Woody's is involved and that it will be a beach-themed restaurant when it reopens. But that's only the rumor. I heard it from someone who was drinking heavily one night at High Tide, so I have no idea how much truth there is to it.

Seaborne is usually about $83 one way from SJU to STT. Cape Air is about $110-$129 depending on flight times.

Re: Looking for Villa in Oct--2 Couples
Have you checked out Bay Rum Breeze? It's in Mamey Peak and has incredible views. It's a newer villa and not too much more in cost than Coconuts. Coconuts is incredible as well. It's too bad that it's booked during that time. Have you looked at Plumeria? It's directly next door to Coconuts and owned...
