Re: New Villa Search
Satinwood looks nice, and surprisingly affordable. Looks like no A/C, but do you really need it at that altitude? http://www.satinwood-usvi.com/ Coconut Hill Cottage is listed at $250/nt, but also says "No Reasonable Offer Will be Refused!!!" So if you like to dicker, this one might be for...

Re: Hummingbird House Bordeaux Mtn
My first thought is, "Wow, what a find! How did I miss this one?" (adding to spreadsheet). My 2nd thought, having recently stayed on Bordeaux Mtn, is to wonder about driveway and parking. The house I just stayed in had a flat driveway and parking pad (and they made sure that everybody knew...

Re: We ar family - Day 8 -final
As always, astounding underwater pictures. I also took pictures of squid at Little Lameshur, but my pictures are fuzzy and blue; yours is the most delicately colored squid picture I've ever seen. Do you use some kind of filter to adjust the color out of the over-blue spectrum? I fiddle around with m...

Re: Skyflower 2013 Trip Report - Part 6 (over and out)
Great trip report and thanks for the nurse shark photo. We were at Maho twice this week and heard she was patrolling the rocks heading toward Little Maho. Would loved to have seen her but had no luck. Thanks again! There was definitely more than one nurse shark at Maho. Earlier in the week I had se...

Skyflower 2013 Trip Report - Part 6 (over and out)
SATURDAY July 20, 2013 - the perfect ending to a magical vacation We all woke up feeling GREAT! Finally, on our last day, we seem to have this vacation thing all figured out. After another great mango pancake breakfast we decide to go back to Maho one more time so everybody can swim with the turtles...

Re: Skyflower 2013 Trip Report - Part 1 (Getting There)
Enjoying your report. I have never ate a genips are they good? They're a perfect thing to eat while sitting on the balcony looking at the view. They're grape-sized, but with an inedible shell. You delicately bite down on the shell until it cracks neatly in half. Then you pull off one half of the sh...

Skyflower 2013 Trip Report - Part 5 (Fri)
FRIDAY July 19, 2013 - probably my favorite day All through the trip I had been unsuccessful in convincing my travel companions that getting up with the sun makes everything easier in the tropics. Amber was willing to try it my way, but the husbands resisted. So on this day we told them to sleep in,...

Re: Trip report: 17 more days in paradise, final
I turned my Jeep in at St. John Car Rental with no issues, but the oddness continued for John over at Denzil Clyne. Those of you who have rented from them before (as we have) know that they have a $100 “sand fee” if you bring the car back with sand in it. Knowing this, John and Sean took all of the...

Re: Trip report: 17 more days in paradise, final
Fantastic pictures! But would you guys please just stop taking pictures of your food? You're making me really hungry! OMG, July 18, when you cancelled your sailing trip because huge storms were slamming into the south side? That's the day we went out with Capt. Phil! Actually the weather w...

Re: We are family - Day 6
Fantastic parrot fish pictures! The first couple do look kind of cartoony.
There sure seemed to be a lot of rays this year - we saw at least one pretty much every place we snorkeled. Lots of turtles, too.

Skyflower 2013 Trip Report - Part 4 (Thurs))
THURSDAY July 18, 2013 - Wayward Sailor Now we get to the day that is both the high and low point of the trip. In 2009 we took a wonderful snorkel cruise that I kind of wanted to do again, so I took this opportunity to book the Wayward Sailor for the 4 of us. Capt. Phil is an awesome free diver, und...
