Thoughts about new Cinnamon Bay / Trunk Bay Concession?
The NPS seemed to take a pretty long time deciding one who will run the Cinnamon Bay Campground and the Truck Bay facilities since the bidding ended in July 2015. But finally, we have a winner -- Redwood Parks Company, www.redwoodparkscompany.com. https://www.nps.gov/viis/learn/news/new-concession-o...

Re: Private Property
I hope this was reported as a crime, even in the door was unlocked. Tatiana should hear from the authorities that this is just wrong.

Thanks, I've send a request to Life from St.John.liamsaunt wrote:St. John Peeps and Live from St. John, both run by folks who have posted here in the past (and maybe still do?). They are closed groups, but I am sure you will be accepted if you request to join.

Re: STJ Facebook Group?
Maybe try this one and see if it is the kind of page you are looking for https://www.facebook.com/ActiveStJohnVi Looks like a good page, though I wish everyone's posts recieved the same level of visibility. That's why I like "groups" rather than facebook "pages." Here is the lin...

STJ Facebook Group?
Quick question: is there a facebook group for folks into all things St. John where everyone can post and share info, like this forum? All I'm seeing our FB "pages" that seem to just feature posts by the owner of the page. Even the FB page for this forum only features posts by the admin. th...

Good call, liamsaunt, especially considering the photo quality!
So it's a type of barracuda -- cool, I've never heard of guachanches before. Even cooler that they swim in schools.
thx, pk

Fish ID please
Hi Everyone, A school of fish passed us by very quickly as we were snorkling Tektite. They were skinny and around 8-10" long. They were moving quite fast, on a mission, so I wasn't able to get a decent photo. I tried ID'ing using my reference books but I'm stumped. Anyone else recognize these. ...

Re: Lion Fish Reporting Number
How is the lionfish issue going in St. John? We didn't see any during our snorkles at Blue Cobblestone, Francis, Waterlemon, Haulover, Hansen, Tektite, Lampshure, Salt Pond and Cinnamon. Maybe just luck of the draw?

Re: Cinnamon Bay Campground?
For those curious about the future of CBC, there was a meeting Jan 24 and park superintendant FitzGerald reported the following: http://stjohnsource.com/content/news/local-news/2016/01/24/park-makes-efforts-hire-locally "Cinnamon Bay Campground is one place with huge maintenance issues, but it’...

Re: About Caneel Bay, St. John, USVI
I didn't realized that Caneel Bay was not longer managed by Rosewood.
Rosewood also concessioned Cinnamon Bay Campground. Has this also changed hands? I understand that it's been up for bid for quite a while, along with Trunk Bay's amenities.

Consumer Rights when Airlines change flight schedule?
Hi everyone, A bit of advice. Delta has changed our flight so that we have an 11 hour layover and now are on a red eye flight requiring us to take an extra vacation day. Not sure if they cancelled one of the legs, but the new flight has a different flight number. I bought the tickets from delta.com....

Re: Coral Bay Marina Update
I hope this is good news. It's certainly not bad news. However, I find it disconcerting that the application is only "in abeyance pending receipt of the information requested." Hope they're not just waiting for a new political regime that might be more favorable to their rape the bay minds...
