Let's see if we can clear up some of this techno-jargon. A SLR camera is a single lens reflex camera. That means that when you look through the viewfinder you are looking at a series of mirors and seeing your subject through the lens that takes the picture. When you push the shutter button the camer...

Thanks Dave-a-roni. We are all learning. One of the things that prof liked to say is, "When you start out in photography, it is very hard. After a while it becomes easy. If you keep trying to perfect your work and learn, it becomes hard again and it never gets easy after that." Study lots ...

I don’t want to make this too long, but here are some of the things I think about when I look through the viewfinder: The best instruction I got from my photojournalism professor was to first create the photo in your mind’s eye and then use the camera to recreate what you just imagined. There are so...

She spent three nights in jail. That's the first time she slept in the same bed three nights in a row in her life.

I get a painkiller too! When to you plan on delivering? I know what you are talking about when you say that everyone was nice. I've found that to be true every time we went to STT/STJ. I was reading the report this morning while sitting in the Delta Crown Room (I do that a lot. That's how we get the...

We bought our Rebel at Boolshons (sp?) on Main Street in CA on our second day. We've owned Canons for well over 30 years. We still have my wife's FTb in addition to several newer models. We didn't bring our EOS long lens limiting what we could do. I think taking it to a such a picturesque location t...

WHAT A REPORT! I thought I knew something about shooting photos, but I'm not even close to you. I bought our Rebel XTi in STT a few days before you came down. I'm still learning what it can do. The next time you head to STJ I'd like to follow you around to learn more. BTW, you want to see my fish?

I like your plan and would like to come along, but I just got back last week.

I would suggest Saphire Beach for the last day. It's less crowded and the snorkling a week ago Sunday was outstanding.

Have a great trip and let us know how it goes.

New Horizons II Trip

I really enjoyed your report and photos. Our trip with NH II was good but not as good as yours. Our captain was Chad and our guide was Lisa. Lisa was excellent. At First I thought the woman who sold us on the idea of this trip had oversold what we would get. You, on the other hand, got what we were ...
