I was surprised to see mixed responses to them, so thought I'd ask.

Of course, blowing them up is a little strong, but I wouldn't mind if they blew away to never never land in some kind of a storm that only took them!

Thanks Lex. I'm definitely in the blow them up category. I'm sure a local architect could design something that works for the lifeguards and is more appropriate for its surroundings.

While they would not have been my choice, I am sure there is a reason for them. We can dislike them all we want but if the Lifeguards, that are there to ensure the public's safety, are happy with them, then I am happy with them.
I would be interested to get their feedback.

Looks like a leftover module from the Space Shuttle program.

I could even do it from here is someone asked me to. It would be much better if I was on site woking on this problem.

I'm here now and saw those huge white cabana like shelters directly on the beach and it completely ruins the natural look of trunk that many have enjoyed for decades. And, only one was being used where all the kids are. They obviously haven't had problems have they with drownings before they were both put in place have they? Everyone trying to take photos now from the overlook are trying to figure out how hard will it be to photo shop those big white cabanas out. The magazine publishers will no doubt use older photos of trunk when they feature it in a story. The least they could have done was to make them an off white closer matching the white sand beach. Oh well, cinnamon is prettier for a large beach. Solomon is still my favorite and it's free and harder to get to which means less noisy kids.

There's no "Who Cares" category!!! Really??? Who is it hurting and why the fuss?? Personally, I never go to Trunk anyway.

I didn't think of what an eyesore they would be at the overlook!! Tourists will think aliens have landed! (Those smart aliens know where to vacation~)

Well, according to The Source, they'll be painted and camouflaged, so that'll help a lot.

I hope they put an ice machine on the side-! hate running out of ice for Bloody Marys !!
I don't care- it's progress and if the guards want it-
I do too.
Tough job- watching cruise people swim out-never snorkeled before - and you're in charge !!
That's a job that deserves of respect- I do.

I'd care if I ever went to Trunk Bay, but I don't and I don't :)
