Deli Grotto -What to Order?

Post by ms411 »

I never see anything I want to order. Tried their vegetable almond salad last week, and it was horrible. Dressing tastes like sweet pickle juice.

I see rave reviews, but no specific dishes mentioned. I can do hummus on my own, so what is good to get? I'm working in Cruz Bay month of July, so need affordable lunch options. The deli in Marketplace, Sam and Jacks, opens too late.

I'm starving on St John!

I like the Ahi Tuna sandwich at Deli Grotto.
I also like croissant sandwiches from Baked in the Sun (esp. Turkey BLT) they are affordable and open early.

My wife loves the curry chicken salad on Deli Grotto multigrain bread. I like the tuna salad (also on multi grain). Got both twice earlier this month to take to the beach.

My husband really likes the Pink Cadillac sandwich (turkey, cheddar, salsa and I think cream cheese on pumpernickel). I have enjoyed their vegetarian greek salad sandwich in the past--it does have a decent amount of onions on it if that is a concern for work. The black bean salad is tasty.

In general I prefer the wraps or regular breads rather than the focaccia for their sandwiches. The foccacia is pretty thick and ends up being too much food, in my opinion.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

Definitely the coconut chocolate bar (aka crack bar).
Their pizza slices are a good bargain, too.
Breakfast croissant = winner.
My husband loves the tamarind balls, but I am NOT a fan.

Oh, yes! The Pink Cadillac is awesome. I have been trying to remember the name, so I could respond.
