Beach Quality

The following is copied from a Tradewinds article. You might be interested in the water quality of the bay in which you will be swimming. In case you don't know, Great Cruz Bay is the Westin's bay.

The Department of Planning and Natural Resources (DPNR) announces that the Beach Water Quality Monitoring Program, which evaluates weekly water quality at popular swimming beaches throughout the Territory, advises the public of the following:

DPNR performed water quality analysis at the 5 designated beaches on St. John during the week of September 1-5, 2014. The following beaches meet water quality standards and are safe for swimming or fishing:
Hart Bay
Cruz Bay
Oppenheimer
Johnson’s Bay

However, the following beaches DO NOT MEET THE WATER QUALITY STANDARDS FOR SWIMMING OR FISHING:
Great Cruz Bay
