Good Bye Crack Bar

I just read that Deli Grotto was closing its doors for good. With their closing one of my favorite days on vacation will change. We loved to stop at Deli Grotto in the morning and buy lunch and some of their desert bars and hike to Solomon for the day. By lunch time the crack bars and jumbles they sold would be just a bit messy because the chocolate would have melted a bit. What to do now?

Hopefully the new owners will inherit the crack bar recipe! It's my favorite too.

I thought it was just getting a new owner, not closing for good??? Say it aint so deli grotto was my go to place for consistantly good coffee and a baked treat or a sandwich and salad. It's like my tropical Wawa:(

This is sad news for everyone in my family. After one of their amazing sandwiches for lunch we each looked forward to a bar for desert. Of course with 4 in our family, we would have to buy 4 different bars and sometimes we would sample each one!

Here's hoping the recipes were part of the transaction.

First JJ's then Joe's Diner now Deli Grotto ! We stop there every morning when on island. Will miss the Jumble and all the other desserts. We will especially miss the really nice lady that was usually at the register!
