You might want to add Tylenol to go with the Bubba Mug!Bigcheeze wrote:Not to be facetious, no matter how you plan or pack...the less you plan/pack in your mind and let go... will no doubt allow you the freedom to bring less clothes, things and ultimately stress. That being said...
I like my own mask and snorkel
My current(only)wife
The 2 kids
Tums
A Bubba Mug
and that's all I need

I'll definitely have lots of ziplocks, the neatsheet, and powder, Toni!

Pam - Ibuprofen or Aspirin with the bubba mug - never Tylenol!

I'm wondering if I am doing something wrong with the baby power to remove sand??? I tried it once and didn't find it worked that well and I ended up with white feet. Any suggestions or tips?

I'd like to hear, as well. We don't use the powder on our feet...
Re: Your best St. John packing tip?
We have found that regular old corn starch works much better than powder. We put it in a small ziploc and poke some holes in the bag and then put that bag in a bigger ziploc and keep it in the jeep. It absorbs the moisture much better than regular powder. There is a version of Johnson's Baby Powder that is 100% corn starch which also works but is MUCH more expensive than corn starch.
As far as best packing tip - All the clothes you will need for a week on St. John should fit in a plastic Wal-Mart bag...If you have more than that then you are taking too much...

For the sandy feet, we bring a small, soft wisk broom to knock the sand off. It works.

I've had great luck with baby powder. I just sprinkle it on, it soaks up the moisture so the sand isn't sticky, then brush it right off with my hands. I does leave me with white feet though. Maybe when the current bottle is empty I'll try refilling it with cornstarch.

Things on my "don't forget" list:
Power cords to recharge phones, etc.
A plain old flat twin sheet to put under towels on the beach. (Neat sheet took up too much space in the suitcase)
Snorkel gear
Rash shirts for everyone (we're pasty white Minnesotans)
Ziplocks of every size
Small jars of mayo, mustard, and peanut butter. (It's criminal what they charge for these at Starfish)
Coffee (lots)
Tea bags (to have iced tea always in the fridge)
Mesh gear bag/ backpack for schlepping snorkel gear to the beach
Water bottle(s)
Just thinking about STJ makes me smile as I watch the snow fall. Soon!
