Federal Agencies Respond to Coral Bay Marina Plan

Post by iheartsj »

"EPA strongly recommends the denial of a Department of the Army permit for this project."
I couldn't be stated more clearly. And add to that the comments of NOAA, NMFS, and NPS and you have an overwhelmingly negative response from all federal agencies to the Summers End Group marina permit application. We've now received copies of official comments from all of these agencies and they are posted on the Save Coral Bay website for your review. Take your time ... it makes for some excellent reading !

Those are very strong statements. We could be well on our way to benching this project permanently. 8) Based on the comments, they haven't done the basics that would be required to complete a project like this. It may be that they are so poorly capitalized that they can't pay for the required studies. They got away with that approach with the locals, but the Feds play with a different set of rules. By the way, nothing in these comments conflict with what we've been saying all along.

Keep the pressure on. This isn't over yet.
