Can we make a 45 minute layover?

Post by Connie »

In MIA coming home from STT and onto PHL. Looks like a change of planes in MIA. We're not so sure about this. Carry on only.

Or....

Don't take our chances. Get some dinner and drinks in MIA airport and get a flight back to PHL with a 2 1/2 hour layover in MIA.

We're going to book today or tomorrow.

We don't schedule layovers longer shorter than 60 minutes. In MIA we hit La Carreta near gate D37 for great Cuban food.

Thanks Rick. I have enough anxiety to try to deal with a short layover.

If it works out and we get in there early, we'll go as standby.

Thanks for the recommendation too for the Cuban Restaurant. We love Cuban food

Connie - I agree w Rick. Don't take the chance. I had a similar situation for my trip this coming August - 45 min to make a connection in MIA. I was too nervous and changed it to a 2 hr wait in MIA to STT.

Thanks Sun. We're booked for the later flight. Husband enough miles for a free ticket! So excited to get back.

+1 - La Carreta has great food. I would rather spend an extra 2 hours in airport that an extra for missing a connection.

That's great you got a ticket on miles!

After missing one too many flights with short connections, I don't even consider anything under 90 minutes. We get to our next gate and grab an overpriced drink and talk about our upcoming or next trip.

Are you flying American? I was looking at PHL flights with a maimi connection for feb.

45 minutes is too short of time for a connection. MIA is a big airport and American covers a very long stretch of it.

Take the layover, eat at La Carreta :) RickG turned us on to them and they do not disappoint. We normally end up with a similar layover out of Norfolk. It's not bad at all.

Happy Planning!
