Another mosquito borne illness... pregnant? FYI
Another mosquito borne illness... pregnant? FYI
Zika... no cases yet reported in the USVI, but one is known in Puerto Rico to date.
It is my opinion that those who are pregnant should be aware of this illness.

I saw this earlier today:
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-35368401
How devastating for the families
I talked to someone who was canceling her babymoon to another Caribbean island because of this. I've been pregnant multiple times while on STJ, including on a babymoon, and I would be heartbroken to have to cancel a trip. Obviously the people who have been affected have it infinitely worse.
I really feel for the pregnant mamas who live in the affected areas...we women worry about our unborn babies for the entirety of our pregnancies, and now all those women have to worry about this, too

Let us live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.

So sad. I wonder if other species of mosquitos, more common in our area, will carry this virus? Or if only the aedes egypti (sp?) and the one other species, will carry?
Re: Another mosquito borne illness... pregnant? FYI
the TA forum reports that a case was found in the VI? I have not corroborated this however....
